Each page, no matter how many links it has, counts as a single wick on the "Related" page.

^ Adding onto that, usually in a Wick Check you would record all the links on the page to the best of your ability.

I think what Unicorndance wants to know is whether multiple links to a trope coming from the same page are to be counted as one wick or as multiple wicks as concerns the wick check sample size.

... At least that's the problem I am having just now with a Wick Check. I selected a 100 wicks from the "Related" page with the help of the random number generator. Later I discovered that several of these pages are linking to the trope multiple times. Sometimes such multiple wicks refer to the same concrete example, sometimes there are multiple examples. When it comes to analyzing the results of the wick check statistically, should I count multiple links as separate wicks (so the sample size actually becomes greater than 100)? Even in cases when such multiple wicks refer to the same example in practice?

^ Oh.

Well, personally, I count one page as one wick, even if there are technically more on the page, but that's just me.

I think what Unicorndance wants to know is whether multiple links to a trope coming from the same page are to be counted as one wick or as multiple wicks as concerns the wick check sample size.
After I determine how many wicks I have to check (call it X), I choose X pages from the "Related" tab and find all of the wicks from each page.
When I'm analyzing the results, I have Y examples that wick to the page. (If wicked in the description of the page, it counts as one "example".) X is usually smaller than Y, but there's occasionally a Ghost Wick or something where the wick doesn't actually appear, which would artificially reduce the number of wicks that I was checking anyway.

Thanks for the answers. I'm not done yet, but I guess I'll go with crazysamaritan's option.

Let's just say and leave it at that.
