Many of those improvements begin with suggestions posted right here, on the Community Wishlist. Is there a feature you really want on TVTropes? Post it.
Is there something we could be doing better? We want to know. Do you think we look fat in these pants? We were totally afraid of that. See a bug? Report it.
Important things to know:
- We're all about that content-creation life! The top contenders for our attention are ideas that'll create more content, like the video uploading feature, or speed up launching new pages. On the flip side, design or layout tweaks won't be our top priority.
- Help us dig through the goldmine of old wishlist items! If you have an old request gathering dust or spot one you're totally on board with, give it a bump and a like. There's a treasure trove of 6+ years' worth of ideas just waiting to be rediscovered. Items without enough love may not make the cut and will be closed.
- Was your wishlist item locked up without an explanation? It was most likely disapproved or just too big of a task versus the benefit it would ultimately have. Time is precious, and we want to focus on updates with the biggest bang for the buck. Don't be discouraged though! We appreciate every idea and we're always listening.
I hope this gets done soon, the Big Bad page has 60000+ entries now...

I was wondering if Big Bad has Sub Tropes and we just suck at it?
Or Big Bad + The Chessmaster is just The Same But More Specific, so we don't?

^ "Please avoid using unrelated sections of the wiki to pitch TLP ideas". Big Bad is an Overdosed Trope and a strongly defined near-universal concept, I doubt there's anything really that could be done to split chunks of it.
I would love to get a page feature, but I want it also to have a search as well, because I sometimes do need to see if there are specific wicks regardless of namespace.

Are you saying the related to pages as they are now will affect wick checking, or the proposal will?

I've succeeded in convincing admins to paginate namespace index
and page type per namespace lists
, so I'm asking for this. I want lists under the Related tab to be split into pages with 500 entries each like with page type per namespace or put into 3 columns and 1000 entries for each page (prefer the former), like with namespace index. This is important as several very linked-to pages have tens of thousands of wicks. The Related page for Big Bad
has 50000+ entries and weighs 5MB+. Other pages on Overdosed Tropes and Trope Overdosed reach similar levels of mass. This needs to be fixed, as these pages will likely keep being linked to and grow larger and more ludicrous in size. I know that namespace headers may make this more difficult, but I think they can be managed by putting them again at the beginning of a page if a page ends in the middle of a namespace. Thank you.
