Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I believe, in the case of the Horrible subpages, I think it's alright to remove other Flame Bait items. We may need further clarification because this is an area I'm unfamiliar with.
This TRS thread gave us the green light to dewick Internet Backdraft everywhere, anywhere. While the edit reason should have linked the TRS thread, you get the gist of it.
Edited by AnoBakaDesu "They played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!" — Kazuhira Miller, Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom PainI think Flame Bait can be kept on other Flame Bait pages. I also think it's dumb that the flame indicator shows up even on Darth Wiki and Image Source pages; is there a way to get rid of that?
Edited by rjd1922 Keet cleanupOn this ^, we don't specifically have a way to prevent that notification from coming up in those situations.
A Flame Bait trope should indeed not be used in examples anywhere on the wiki, even Darth Wiki. That said, it's Darth Wiki... strict enforcement is not as big a deal.
Edited by Fighteer "It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I think for indexes and Darth Wiki, it may be best to go with the [[invoked]] tag. I should note that I see Flame Bait stuff a lot on Dethroning Moment pages.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Ferot might have not been paying a whole lot of attention considering they were probably on a mass wick-deletion spree.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I removed them because other Flame Bait tropes (Character Derailment, Mary Sue) have been removed from Horrible/Dethroning pages on those grounds. Why should this be different
Internet Backdraft is also under Definition-Only Pages, which I believe prohibits its use as a trope.
I'm asking the cleanup thread about this and will follow their decision. Your contribution would be welcome. The thread decided we can keep Internet Backdraft in page descriptions, I can add those back if you want.
Edited by Ferot_DreadnaughtUPDATE: per this, Flame Bait CAN be used on Darth Wiki pages as long as it's used correctly.
For Internet Backdraft, that mean is not a response to the incident/thing that pissed them off (that kind of complaining predates the Internet), but their being pissed at it being brought up, ideally so long after the actual incident/thing that the vitriol seems irrational. Does this need a waiting period of it's only to be used on a specific page type?
I've restored all the examples I'm certain are legit, few as they were.
Ferot_Dreadnaught recently deleted an Internet Backdraft pothole on Horrible.Live Action Films for being Flame Bait as of late, which is weird, considering that So Bad, It's Horrible is also Flame Bait. What is our rule on this?
