Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Can you give us an example of what you're considering putting there?
Um, this is for questions about site policy, or how to edit. Or to report problem users.
Yack Fest in the forums for "fun" stuff.
My understanding of Just for Fun namespace is that it's treated less seriously that tropes, but we really don't need pages "anything that pops into our heads" — usually we want stuff approved by other tropers. If you want to start a new Just For Fun page, ideally take it to TLP. Also what usually becomes JFF: if a trope becomes problematic and gets discussed in Trope Repair Shop, and removal is a serious option, it might get moved to JFF — if enough people think that the concept is amusing and has some value.
Generally speaking, you can put almost anything on your Tropers page. (You can't violate certain rules and have to follow basic wiki etiquette).
Edited by XFlloOriginal works of fan fiction are not allowed anywhere on the wiki, including Just for Fun pages. That's why JustForFun.Super Smash Bros was cut (see this ATT entry).
Keet cleanupSo wait. Could I also make a page on someone like Just a Pancake (who for some reason doesn't have one)? He does have a good few quotes as well.
mega destruction dark ball of darkness and destruction research in progressAlright, a sufficient answer has been provided (thank you rjd1922). Thank the rest of you for helping as well.
Just for Fun is for joke pages, and typically includes parody or meta trope pages and works pages for fictional works (a Show Within a Show or troper in-jokes like TV Tropes: The Webcomic). If it doesn't count as a joke (i.e. it could fit better in a different media category), it doesn't belong there.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Just for fun is generally the namespace we use for pages that are basically made for Rule of Funny and basically amount to joke pages.
Like Chekov's Gun which is a literal bait and switch just listing times Chekov's phaser is seen/used in Star Trek to poke fun at the name of the Chekovs Gun trope.
Just about anything can be posted there, right?
