I'm classifying this as a videogame trope since that's where I've seen it the most even though it may exist in other media. Whats the trope for when you encounter an enslaved person/creature and attack it's master, yet instead of being grateful you're there to free them they fight to protect their master(s). I'm thinking a variant of Stockholm Syndrome?
