Your mama may have had eyes in the back of her head, but our admin team just can't see everything at once. It takes a village to make sure TVTropes is running the way it should, so when it comes to spotting tech snafus, dreaming up a better digital mousetrap, or just diagnosing plain old asshattery, the quicker you let us know something's up, the quicker we can address it. See a bug? Point to it and we'll squash it. Have idea for a new feature? Post in the Tech Wishlist.
NOTE: Do not post duplicate bug queries, please check existing queries to see if your issue has already been reported and then comment on it.
Yes, this bugs me too, which is why I always upload images bigger than 350px and let the uploader scale it down.
Keet cleanup
Sometimes when you upload an image it will be cropped by one pixel on at least one of its edges.
Examples:
Now for some images this isn't that big of a deal. It's virtually unnoticeable in images like the ones for Armageddon and SGU, but it's very noticeable in others like the Princess Peach and Transformers images, since those have rounded edges that have obviously been cut off.
It seems to be completely random which images get affected, but it also seems to be happening more and more lately. At least half of all the images I upload get cropped like this. It's really annoying. Reuploading the images doesn't fix the issue, evilpeach.png◊ (the original) and evilpeach2.png◊ (the reupload) are both missing the exact same rows of pixels.
This bug was reported at least once before, nearly two years ago, but it was closed without even so much as a comment from the staff.
