I'm certain we have/had a trope for crossovers where the mechanics of one verse don't mesh with the other's, I just don't remember the name.
For example, a character from a system that uses turn-based combat is put into a system that uses real-time combat and fights a bunch of mooks. He wonders why the RTC enemy keeps moving around when it's not their turn, they wonder why the TBC guy seems to zone out when not attacking and only takes damage from one enemy weapon at a time.
In Captain SNES, the hero of Chrono Trigger fights a bunch of Final Fantasy mooks. FF uses separate screens for the overworld and for battles while CT uses the same map, so he's able to attack the mooks with complete impunity.
