Red Sock Ruins the Laundry sounds like a phrase, too.
I prefer the current title, since it makes it clear what the trope is about. "Red Sock in the Laundry" would be People Sit on Chairs if taken literally (i.e. red socks in laundry).
Keet cleanup^I concur with this - I could instantly tell the trope from looking at the name, whereas I would have been frankly baffled by "Red Sock in the Laundry".
Current name is OK.

Sorry if this is nitpicky:
I have no problems with Red Sock Ruins the Laundry as a trope. Although the title is clear and concise, the title sounds a bit mouthful, slightly off, and un-witty in my opinion. The original title before launching was Red Sock In The Laundry, yet for some reason, it was changed to the current title by the grabber/launcher at the last minute, and there were no title suggestions from the comment section. Not that I'm suggesting a title that's witty but unclear and long, but can we suggest a better, more concise name such as Red Sock In The Laundry (the original title before launching), or Red Sock In The Wash?
