That's sorta the same idea, but not quite what I was looking for. I'm referring to more massive creature like bears that knock the player down, and pounce on top of them to keep the player trapped. These usually result in quick-time-events where the player has to mash on some sort of button until the creature is killed or shoved off.

Personal Space Invader really covers this. Even the poster children of this trope, the Jockey, Hunter, Smoker, and Charger from Left 4 Dead are examples on that post.

Basically, is there a trope for creatures and such that jump onto the player, which then tries to rip the trapped player to shreds?
