Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
If so, I'm thinking there should be a "no Real Life examples" policy just to avoid baiting them.
Infinite Tree: an experimental story^^ Why? "X vandalized wiki Y on Date Z" ?
Do we really want to be the record sheet / shrine for wiki vandals? That sounds like something ED would do
^Reread the post. He's asking about Wiki Vandals in media. That is, fictional examples. Hence my "no Real Life examples" suggestion.
Edited by INUH Infinite Tree: an experimental storyYeah, I worded it poorly.
"Examples of wiki vandalism done by fictional characters:" What else should I add into descr?
I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.I think this might fall under the "Edit locked pages" forum thread over in Wiki Talk.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Erm. Wait wait wait. It's locked! Therefore, maybe I should report the page to find out admins' thoughts on remaking this into a valid trope?
I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.Totemic Hero, I would like to, but, well posting have been turned off for me years ago for reasons I don't remember and I don't feel like creating a new forum account because screw messing with cookies.
I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.^Also, that would be ban evasion, which I'm pretty sure would get you the Google redirect.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyINUH, I just cba to ask mod staff to unban me (and I don't know how and whom to ask) Besides ban evasion for flamewars is one thing, ban evasion for participating in discussions leading to improving the TV Tropes wiki is another thing entirely.
The Inferno, maybe we should move to Discussion/WikiVandal on that?
Edited by Aminatep I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.^You could probably ask about that by sending a PM to one of the relevant people on the Know The Staff list.
Edited by INUH Infinite Tree: an experimental story^^There's a thread in Wiki Talk where you're supposed to go to ask to be unbanned; it's Edit Banned - Would Like To Edit Again.
I support the idea of a trope for wiki vandals in fiction; further comments on that can take place in the Wiki Vandal discussion page.
Guilty! Guilty! My evil self is at the door, and I have no power to stop it!^You can't really post in that thread to ask about a forum ban, though.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyI can't ask to be unbanned in that thread because, well, it's posting that was prohibited for me.
I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul. You can still PM a mod and be very apologetic, which if I'm not mistaken is what people tend to do when faced with forum bans. It's certainly what I did (well, okay, for the most part I was angry).
Thank you for pointing me towards Know The Staff page, I am now unbanned and can finally access the forum without any impairment. I guess I'm on some sort of a trial term, though.
Edited by Aminatep I will consume not only your flesh, but your very soul.Yeah, it's very important to behave yourself when coming off a ban. Learned that the hard way and I'm still not allowed to post.
I asked people around and they decided splitting the trope
If anyone's interested I made an YKTTW. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=izxxwbvxtwtkmamwhgzbujks

As Wikipedia gains popularity, there are more and more Wiki Vandals in modern media. Should the trope be rewritten a bit to allow examples?
