As your friendly neighborhood Admin Team, the gang here at TVTropes HQ is always working to improve the site.
Many of those improvements begin with suggestions posted right here, on the Community Wishlist. Is there a feature you really want on TVTropes? Post it.
Is there something we could be doing better? We want to know. Do you think we look fat in these pants? We were totally afraid of that. See a bug? Report it.
Important things to know:
- We're all about that content-creation life! The top contenders for our attention are ideas that'll create more content, like the video uploading feature, or speed up launching new pages. On the flip side, design or layout tweaks won't be our top priority.
- Help us dig through the goldmine of old wishlist items! If you have an old request gathering dust or spot one you're totally on board with, give it a bump and a like. There's a treasure trove of 6+ years' worth of ideas just waiting to be rediscovered. Items without enough love may not make the cut and will be closed.
- Was your wishlist item locked up without an explanation? It was most likely disapproved or just too big of a task versus the benefit it would ultimately have. Time is precious, and we want to focus on updates with the biggest bang for the buck. Don't be discouraged though! We appreciate every idea and we're always listening.
Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about, but I think I found a glitch related to this. I tried to follow a related page on a trope I follow a couple times, and what happened was that it cloned the discussion page for the trope
Mr Mister 04 means following the Related tab itself, not the related pages. There is currently no such option. e: Took me a while to post.
Its practical use would be for Trope Repair Show cleaning. If a trope has changed (or deleted outright), some kind of system would be helpful to note if a new link to the page has been added, so forum regulars can find out by who and explain the changes to them.
Personally, due to rare cases it would be useful for, I think it's best to either a wiki tool (some kind of monitor page where you can add trope pages, and it will log any changes in their Related tabs) or just marking new additions in the Related tab as "new". But I'm interested in other opinions since people sometimes copy the entire Related tabs and check on the next day if something new appeared and where.
The Follow button follows the article and the discussions. The Follow button for a page is shared across all menus. Though I did bring up before that following a page would also follow the discussion tab may be undesired.
^ The discussion tab appearing 4 times on Followed Pages is really weird.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupSounds like it could be a useful feature.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectCould help in tracking the wicks of recently disambiguated pages and see who's still wicks to them.
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectAs someone whose recently started wick checking, I realize that this would massively help in keeping a trope in check following repairs. Seeing how the trope is used in pages after a TRS affects it will help it not fall into a state where it needs a new repair effort.
^I concur
Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectOnce we get through the next couple big updates coming, the badges/troper page and TLP changes, then i'll come back to adding extra features like this that have the most likes/support.
My pile of tasks kind of blew up into a mountain and now i've got 68 requests that doesn't include the 30+ from the TLP thread so now i've got to figure out what to do in what order after these next couple big ones. Maybe i'll make a forum post in wiki talk just listing out everything and ask for help arranging it.
Now monitoring Wishlist and BugsAgreed with this idea. This could help with (as mentioned) ensuring TRS decisions are enforced, and this could also help a lot with crosswicking.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper Wall^It would especially be helpful in tropes with very large wicks that are in need of cleaning like The Hero or Catchphrase.

I wish that we could have a way to follow the Related page for articles, getting updated on when it gets linked on other pages.
