While the edit reason was pretty rude, I kind of agree.
As written the example is very whiny and complainy. "Skywalkers accomplished nothing" is just a flat-out falsehood. Rey "saves the day on her own" is another falsehood. "Rubs salt in the wound" is editoralizing.
So we've got two lies and some biased writing. There's MAYBE an example there (though I think "inadvertenly" goes against the spirit of Hijacked Destiny), but it definitely needs to be rewritten.
EDIT-Also, I don't see how that's an edit war if it was deleted just once.
Edited by ArthurEldThe entire saga was given a Happy Ending Override with everything that came before being turned into a "Shaggy Dog" Story, how is it a "falsehood" when Episode 7 puts the universe right back where it started?
In the above-linked ATT you have six people including a mod agreeing that the example is misuse. Might be time to drop it.
Well maybe if someone had bothered to message me when this discussion occurred I could've been able to get a word in. Whatever, if it's done it's done unless someone else wants to get in on this dogpile.
Edited by stankykongI gave Walker B Riley a rudeness notifier for the edit reason.
Macron's notesThanks.
WalkerBRiley deleted this entry under Film in Hijacked Destiny:
- Happens inadvertently in the Star Wars Continuity Reboot. The Skywalker bloodline ultimately ended having accomplished nothing and The Unchosen One Rey, descendant of the very person it was created to destroy, saves the day on her own and rubs salt in the wound by taking their name for herself in an attempt to honor their sacrifice.
His edit reason even bragged about how he'd keep deleting it for being "biased" even though it was previously determined to be valid in Trope Talk, I think he might be a ban evader because I don't see the name in the history elsewhere while he's claiming he's done it before. Seeking permission to restore entry. Edited by stankykong
