Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Yeah, that's Speculative Troping that violates Examples Are Not Recent as it stands. You can still find it heartwarming whether or not it's the same one.
Of note, a They Changed It, Now It Sucks! example regarding the Iron Giant's presence was on YMMV.Multi Versus before it was removed so if it's a wonk, they're not the only one partaking in it.
rva98014 is already edit warring, FWIW — an entry was added by a third user, he saw fit to edit it into a very long rant, you modified it, then he edited it again to support his point of view. I support restoring the entries deleted/modified by him, as there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with them.
Edited by Edgar81539I have deleted the offending sentence and linked back to this thread in the edit reason.

rva98014 changed a Heartwarming in Hindsight example on YMMV.The Iron Giant (about the Giant getting to meet Superman in MultiVersus) into a long rant about MultiVersus supposedly going against the Giant's character with this as the edit reason:
"I admit, I teared up when I saw the trailer and the awesome, cool moment when the Iron Giant flies in and gets to meet his idol. That part is very nicely done, but unfortunately the way the press releases have been handling the poor explanation of why the Giant would be OK with fighting in the first place have shown they don't really care about the Giant and his story, beyond being a recognizable piece of Warner Bros intellectual property with high nostalgia value."
I sent them a PM about complaining and reverted the example on the basis that YMMV can't be Played With, but then they further changed the example to say "Unfortunately, subsequent press releases have made it unclear if the Giant featured in the game is actually the same Giant from the movie", which is likely baseless speculation (MultiVersus hasn't stated anything even remotely implying this is a different character from the one in the movie; in fact, the giant's bio on the official website confirms it to be the same one from the movie) and makes me wonder if the Troper has some kind of Single-Issue Wonk specifically regarding the Giant in MultiVersus.
Would it be okay if I deleted the "Unfortunately, subsequent press releases have made it unclear if the Giant featured in the game is actually the same Giant from the movie" part? I want to get approval as to avoid a possible Edit War.
