i agree that michaud is too easy to hate, and probably less likely to be affected emotionally by any of this than doug since he's more stuck in his own bubble than even doug is.
doug definitely deserves criticism for his cowardice and inability to apologize without making it come back to his own feelings, but there's definitely people acting like he's the real instigator in all of this and it gets annoying. complacency in abuse is bad and needs to be criticized without acting like it is on the exact same level as abuse.
also i rarely see rob brought up at all even though he's got more company power than doug albeit less than michaud, and that still irritates me.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Yeah if anyone's not being hated as much, it seems to be rob. He has been successfully ignored for most of our conversation, unless someone is talking about "doug and rob"
Read my stories!and rob is the one who deleted his entire facebook....that's pretty cowardly itself.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Ironically Rob was brought up more than Doug during Allison's firing back in 2015. I definitely remember him getting more hate than Doug but less hate than Michaud. Of course, frankly Rob is a fucking douche. Everything I've seen him in, he comes off as a bully who talks down to Doug and acts like he's smarter than everyone else. Apparently he's also the one who writes some of the jokes bashing millennials and Tumblr in the NC reviews. I wonder if he wrote that "triggered" joke in that one video.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? He's made "tumblr triggered" jokes before in vlogs yeah.
Ah okay, so Rob is an edgelord piece of shit then. He's probably not brought up as much because Michaud is just that goddamn deplorable and Doug has been a target for mockery from people for years now. Compared to this douchebag making "triggered" jokes and acting like he's smarter than everyone else, he blends into the background.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Ah funny* story. I was talking to one of the guest stars on Pop Quiz Hotshot, and he was telling me you get points for making Doug laugh, but extra points if you make Rob laugh.
I vaguely pictured Michaud as some kind of slightly older, more “businessy” form of Rob before I finally looked him up today.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.I'm not a fan of Rob either. He reminds me of the film snobs from my college days (as well as a lot of people in my online travels), the ones that basically say "This film sucks and you suck for liking it." Fuck that noise.

So, wait, Tumblr's not an acceptable target for mockery anymore?
I'm sorry, but I don't exactly feel bad about mocking the people who almost drove a nineteen-year-old fanartist to suicide because her art was "problematic". Or did we all just forget that happened?

I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money. To be fair, that's a different story compared to "triggered," though I don't really care if it's used casually to mock an overreaction. It's pointless to hold a grudge against an entire site because of some toxic fans.

It's less Tumblr isn't an acceptable target so much as it's become increasingly apparent that those who default to Tumblr-bashing tend to be worthy of mockery themselves.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. You know that Tumblr isn't a hive mind, right?

Where there's life, there's hope.Tumblr is assuredly a valid target given the toxic atmosphere it creates. Or rather, the stereotypical poster there. You know, not the spambots or company accounts.
Ah, the overcompensation phenomenon. Folks constantly bash something with excess vitriol to hide their own issues.
I think when real people get hurt it’s fair game to go after them. Problematic...what’s problematic is threatening real people over fan art. It’s like all that nonsense with the woman in the Chinese dress for her prom. Spider-Man 1 put Kristen Dunst in one and no one batted an eye.
Real people come first. That’s why all this CA news has been so troubling. It’s one thing to be a crappy employer, it’s another to put your employees and your fans in danger.

I do. And there are some perfectly fine people on Tumblr. Hell, I used to be active on there myself.
But the fact is that the platform has fostered a toxic subculture where cattiness, vindictiveness and self-righteousness are common. If we can make fun of Reddit for subreddits like theredpill and the_donald, we can make fun of the legions of Tumblrinas who will harass the shit out of you if you draw fanart of a ship they don't like.
I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money. It doesn't even have to be political.
Something as simple as shipping wrong characters in your fandom can draw a target on your ass in there.
Just saying this now before it gets too put of hand. This probably isn’t the best place to discuss Tumblr. We have a Tumblr thread if you want to talk about it.
Got it.
I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money.Back on topic, it appears that since all the rumors of Doug quitting are false, and they’re going to pretend business is normal, how long before all this goes away? I mean it will never go away, go away, but in cases like Pew De Pie and Logan Paul, eventually they get enough distance and pretend things are as normal. Even if a lot of people have decided not to watch anymore, there are still a lot of fans to pick up the slack.
Unlike with Pewdiepie and Logan Paul, they still continue to lose subs every day, and even when it slows down, they never get any back.
Watch SymphogearMalcolm implied, and Allison and co seem to believe, that they’ll rebrand.
i got here super late i know and topic moved on but i just wanna clarify that i was around for that zamii mess and she wasn't suicidal due to bullying, she was suicidal due to personal issues like an abusive mother and she hates people using her suicide as a tool.
also she wasn't called out for fanart alone, though she did have a nasty track record. she was criticized for defending her right to be friends with and draw fan art for a convicted pedophile going by the name griddles. and i know people on here must disagree with enabling sex offenders if you rightfully criticize CA for it.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. But in an environment like Tumblr, social criticisms can turn very nasty and the lines are blurred as to who is the jackass. I personally would not get involved in that mess.
As for the fate of CA, I am curious if people like Chris, James and Lewis would be doing crossovers with them at all.
I've not been referring to that at all. Hell, I've been against that rumor being taken up as fact from Day 1.
If it's not condoning it then I'll admit I was mistaken. Still, I feel like there's a little bit of softness towards Doug because it's so easy to hate Michaud for his actions. Michaud is such a garbage person that it makes it easy for some people to ignore Doug's complicit behavior in some of these situations.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
