Rail Shooters

Hey guys. So yeah, rail shooters. Discuss.

Um...let's see, topic....good ones minus the complications? In the vein of 90s games like Area 51 and such? They all seem to have a lot of things to "do" nowadays. I just want to shoot things.

I'm a pretty big fan of Time Crisis. It's a shame most of the good rail shooters are horror-themed and they creep me out.

There's an obscure one called Let's Go Jungle! that was pretty awesome if you're not scared of giant spiders and stuff.

I hear good things about Gal Gun.

Not sure if it's railshooter though.

Dead Space: Extraction makes me wish I had a Wii.

But if you do buy a rail shooter, be warned, those games are ungodly short.

I bought Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles out of impulse...I was so...f*cking dissapointed.

I felt so cheated of my money after playing it. Dicks in review site said the game was quite long...they forgot to mention it's only long by a fruit fly's standard.

Most rail shooters are designed for those with quarters...

I really want them to make a console version of that classic Jurassic Park Rail Shooter one of these days.

Oh well, at least I can be satisfied with House Of The Dead for now.

I want them to make a melee based Rail Shooter...it'll be called Rail Penetrator, and the controller is a massive lance...and you'll hold a shield...and you need to sit on something that emulates the rocking of a horse...and you fight dragons or something.

Or Rail Slasher and you hold a sword yadayadayda...but that's too obvious. I'm getting tired of swords.

Came across a JP1 machine this Saturday. However I was at the arcade as part of a Touhou gathering so I didn't have time to play.

I only just recently figured out the "right" way to defeat that annoying cat in the third level of the first game.

I still enjoy ghost squad. It's fun to play every now and then.

Agreed with all of the above. Let's go jungle....I spent aa few bucks on that at chuck e cheese so I could get through it, kill mothra, and see the credits. Hellz yeah! And yeah, Sin and Punishment rocks. My Chuck e Cheese still has that sit down motion Jurassic Park machine...it rocks. Hard as hell though. I swear those triceratops are there ONLY to make ou spend more quarters....

I dig Police 911 and Police 24/7. I'm not very good at them, but I like the "you are the controller" gimmick. It was pretty accurate, most of the time.

What about Starblade, Galaxian 3, or Gunblade NY?

I want to play Lethal Enforcers 3 but there's no known cabs around my area. The nearest one I know of is two states up.

Nope. Snap is AWESOME.

I remember this pretty fun arcade rail shooter where you had Uzis with unlimited ammo and had to escape in a Jeep.

Was it from giant insects?

^ I only played the first level. It was an escape from a military base, you had to gun down green beret soldiers.
