And it's dead.
MIAThe heck?
Not everybody constantly posts in every topic. Sometimes topics take hiatuses. It's normal. If somebody doesn't have anything they want to discuss, they don't. There's no reason to bump a topic just cause it's not completely active.
....sorry about that. I just thought that sudden change in topic wasn't remarkable.
MIAWell, no offense, but sharing ideas for original animated shows, isn't there already a thread for that?
crap.
MIAI fixed that. I just didn't want to talk the the certain things that should not be named. u'know to brighten up the mood.
MIAAh yes, The You-Know-What Movie.
Understandable. That topic is so toxic, the mods should probably add as a rule:
"NEVER bring up The You-Know-What Movie."
I'm joking, of course. (Mostly.)
Bump.

MIADid anyone find this yet? Because it looks it'll be fun on a bun!
The Big Bad Fox & Other Tales...
this looks quite familiar. has that comic like look to it.
MIAAm I the only one kind of tired of American animators imitating anime?
It was O.K. when only a few folks were doing it, but now it seems like everyone and their mother is doing it, so it's not so cool or unique anymore; it's honestly starting to get old. I want to see more animators with original, yet attractive styles, instead of the same old, same old rip-off stuff.
Anime style is the new Jack Kirby style. It's become the defacto style to imitate in entertainment. I started seeing the trend when Teen Titan aired, and the creators didn't make a big deal out of it as if they thought it was normal.
not everything is mimicking anime, there's the round style that's also getting popular but isn't a common style amongst streaming cartoons.
and now that you said that you made feel bit worried about my art style. case in point [1]◊]
MIAAnime is a Global medium now, something anyone can make, whether for better or worse.
May as well accept that and move on.
Watch SymphogearThis was brought up in the Ducktales thread, but does anyone notice that most intros to modern cartoons are incredibly fast-paced? Not just Ducktales, but shows like OKKO, We Bare Bears, Milo Murphy's Law, Adventure Time, Justice League Action (if you want to count what they have as an intro), and even My Little Pony are pretty fast-paced (even if the songs are mid-paced). Compare that to shows from the 80s and 90s where even shows with loads of characters (tiny toons, animaniacs, a lot of the action cartoons) at least used to be able to show most of the main characters, with some of these new shows you have to freeze-frame (it took me a while to realize that it was pom-pom throwing the drink at the bears in the WBB intro, and this was long after pom-pom was introduced) just to see everything that's going on and which characters are featured. Not really complaining, as it does get the show started faster and they can put in some neat Easter eggs this way, just an observation.

You touched upon it a bit. The clearest reasons is that intros for shows are shorter in general, to make way for more commercial time. This doesn't really make sense in Ducktales' case, which is 90 seconds long!
I watched two Steven Universe episodes last night. The second one was the one involving Blue Diamond. While the one where Steven was a baby was pretty good, I really liked the second one a lot more. I can't wait to see what happens.
x4: ewolf2015: Your character design is very pleasing on the eyes! Keep it up.
Subway Surfers is getting an online animated series on Youtube, premiering on June 1st. There's an atmospheric teaser trailer online with very little dialogue below, and it doesn't look too bad.
Subway Surfers: The Animated Series (10 x 4’), from SYBO Games, is scripted by Brent Friedman (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Francesca Marie Smith (Hey Arnold!), and produced by Daytime Emmy Award-winning producer Sander Schwartz (The Batman, Justice League, What’s New, Scooby Doo; Teen Titans) and will launch on SYBO’s You Tube channel.

I am hyped.
MIASigh...I really don't want to stick it in the Disney-Pixar thread because it's kind of unresponsive, and I really don't like bringing up this elephant in the room, but:
THR: John Lasseter and Hollywood's infuriating journey from #MeToo to #TooSoon
Or, "Why it's a bad idea to even consider bringing back Lasseter."
Ideally speaking, a higher-up from Disney would read it and be, "screw it, let's just toss John overboard." But I really don't know if that'll happen...
I don't know why no one's responded, but i agree that its a very important topic. Feeling comfortable in your environment should be prioritized, but I can agree that its hard to get rid of Lassetter. While Pixar has a good legacy of many talented workers, Disney not as much. Many talented people have worked on recent films, but they have specialized talents that are not equip for taking over the studio at large. Its hard, because I know for pretty much the whole of this recent revival, I've viewed primarily Lassetter as the driving force behind. Knowing how horrid he his makes me want him out, but I understand the pickle. I feel like a compromise should be reached, with Lassatter maybe still on the bench, contributing, not wholly but somewhat, while they work out a better solution. Disney has a lot on their plate (maybe too much) with this fox deal, the parks, whatever is going on with MCEU and star wars, and Disney Animation is in a slight slump with not much slatted for the future. It seems to me that they are postponing any plans under they deal with some of the current drama.
sorry, tldr but Its a complicated situation and I can see why not a lot of descision has been made on it yet
Bide your time, and Hold out Hope — GANKUTSUOU Just because it's irrational, doesn't mean it's not real.Sorry to interrupt you there. But something truly awful has happened. Ok, to be fair nothing really happened but its still awful. Someone made a threat to SHOOT UP CAL ARTS. No, really.
