i like how hard miko burns her own subordinates
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI think if Byakuren wasn't Byakuren she'd do the same.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I dunno, Marisa has given some higher scores. Reimu just seems to start at a base of 0 and then maybe give bonus points.
I have a message from another time...So Seiga really is The Scrappy, and not just by fans.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."I mean, everyone except Yoshika considers her evil, and that's saying something in Gensokyo.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."'Wicked' is part of her job title
Heart of StoneMarisa rated Seiga relatively highly.
Man, it's so weird seeing Touhou fangames on Steam.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Speaking of which, I've been considering Genso Wanderer. Looks decent enough from what I can tell.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."On the subject of fan projects, a streamer I follow has been working on translating/adapting Symposium of Post-Mysticism into a radio play, and he just put out a casting call.
"I've come to the conclusion that this is a very stupid idea."Oh yeah I've been working on that too (in that I helped with editing the script).
So.
Do all roguelikes do the whole "do the whole thing without dying once or you go back to beginning" bullshit or is Genso Wanderer uniquely terrible in that regard?
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."That's basically the entire definition of a Rogue Like.
That said, Genso Wanderer is a pretty non-standard rogue-like.

...yeah, i can't accept that. All that serves is to make the game as tedious as possible.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I mean, the mainline shooting games work the same way. Run out of continues and you have to restart. In the case of Genso Wanderer, that would be something like "run out of emergency items, restart the dungeon."
Technically though, it would be considered a "rogue-lite" in that there's any continuity at all between dungeon runs. Usually it's more like 'your character is dead, reroll."
At least you get multiple lives in the main games. Genso just gives you a Comix Zone-style one-and-done health bar. But even Comix Zone would at least start you back at the beginning of the level rather than the entire damn game.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."That's what I meant by "running out of emergency items." In the version I played anyway, you have a lot of overpowered skills and even more overpowered items you can find along the way. When you find yourself in a bad situation, you use your emergency button and hope it doesn't happen again very often.

I mean, if you don't like it you don't like it, but that sort of constant tension is exactly why people still play roguelikes. It's a genre about careful play and mitigating risks. And/or taking all the risks constantly and living on an adrenaline high.

What's going on? (From Emoting Mokou.)
And music to go with it:
>A Touhou Noob Enters the Chat *brickd*
Hey guys...Been following Touhou for ages ever since I heard Ran Ran Ruu theme from Flandre Scarlet. What's your opinion on the franchise overall? :3
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."The games are fun, the music is amazing, and ZUN's designs are always interesting to look at.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff.
