It happens to everyone. Try taking a little break and putting other things on your mind. Relax and don't push yourself all too hard. You don't want the writing to feel like punishment to you, it's supposed to be fun. If by the time the break's over, you decided that you don't want to continue writing, more soul-searching might be in order in regards to whether you really want to write it or not. The answer could be either one.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like to write, and I know that I love to do it. It's just that I'm a lazy procrastinating bastard. I want people to see the crazy world I've cooked up in Even A Chance Meeting, it's just that I have trouble sticking to a schedule....

And the less said about HellFire Catharsis, the better.

Oh, well, I've started to write the Aya Arc in Ea CM.

The dancing was a little weird at points, but when Suika pulled some strange moves, it was like, "yeah, it's Suika".

Well, I started to write the Aya Arc of Even a Chance Meeting, but I think I characterized here strangely: unlike pretty much every fanfic ever, I portrayed her as a jaded Krusty who fabricates bullshit to sell to the moronic masses, and actually hates reporting, but constantly lies in her articles to sell (The whole "Genki Girl reporter out to get stories" thing is actually a giant facade to get people to buy her newspaper.

Here's a few paragrapghs where she states this:

The BBM held two purposes: Its first was to a newspaper. Its second was to allow me yo push out endless bullshit that the idiots down below would lap up, so I could soak in the profits. It worked. The BBM was one of the most popular newspapers in all of Gensokyo, and I was rich as hell.

To be honest, I hadn’t actually wanted to make a newspaper at first. I didn’t have much of an interest in reporting things; I was more interested in photography. But this was the Tengu Village, where everybody had to have a newspaper. So I decided to create the most elaborate bullshit I could cram into a newspaper. With the assistance of my camera, I set out, and “covered” almost everything I could get my hands on, mutiliated it, and sold the resulting “story” to the worthless masses. I raked in the cash, and used it buy my way past competitors and rocket to the top of the rankings.

Dumbasses. They just bought whatever suited them. Oh well, I was rich.

...So, Yeah....this is just rambling...

Well, yeah, she does eventually become nicer and less jaded. I just thought it would be more interesting than fanon's common interpretation, and there's nothing in canon that goes against it.

No, seriously, I want to hear your critisism. Yes, I may be an annoying dick sometimes, but I'm still an aspiring writer, and I want to hear critisism. You keep thinking I'm some full-of-it idiot who cant respond to any critisism at all, and I'm not.

Is my interpretation bad? If so, tell me why? Do you not like it? Then tell my why. You actually aren't behaving very different than me, in that you refuse to speak to me with anything other than insults. Yes, I behaved shamefully in the past. But in the end, you didn't help, because all you did was basically trash me because I made OC's. You are starting to become as immature as me.

(See? I can talk to people without resorting to ridiculous whining!)

Enlong is right, you misinterpreted what I said again. But I'm typing this in another window while keeping an eye on the thread because this post is long, so I can congratulate you for realizing your mistake and I won't dwell on it. You're also accepting and asking for criticism, which is another step in the right direction.

First of all, I haven't been talking to you in anything other than insults because I've felt there's no point in doing anything else. I've dealt with a ton of people like you and they all react the same. It's just a hobby so it doesn't need to be perfect. If you don't like my work don't read it. The people that like my stuff outnumber you therefore I'm good. Blah blah blah. I've lost the desire to waste time trying to get people to improve when they just don't want to.

So here it is, the criticism you've been asking for.

First of all, you're not characterizing Aya the way you are because you think it's interesting, or because you think it makes for a compelling story. You're doing it because it's different. People depict characters the way they do because they work. It's ridiculous to take Aya's main defining characteristic and act like it's all a sham just so your story can be ~different~. I'm coming to this conclusion because you keep emphasizing how it's different and no one else does it. If no one else is doing something, there's quite possibly a reason.

These paragraphs are in Aya's voice, so it's a little jarring that "she" (that is, you) keeps referring to her newspaper as "the BBM". Is she actually saying "the bee-bee-emm"? Could you just say "Bunbunmaru"? If you don't like typing it, you can copy-paste it. That's what I used to do before I memorized how Aya's last name was spelt.

Aya is my favorite character, and it's annoying enough to see her depicted as an unrepentant unlikable horrible pervert that no one likes. Seeing her depicted as just a straight-up asshole is even worse. In fact, I generally hate seeing just about any Touhou character depicted as an asshole, except in very specific cases (I find likable depictions of Medicine as out of character as I would a bitchy Yuyuko). It's great that Touhou lets you interpret characters your own way, but some personalities just "work" better than others.

I think those are the main issues I wanted to point out. I used to act almost the exact same way you did, and I didn't have people sternly telling me to cut it out. I had people insisting I was a terrible person and creating threads devoted to numbered lists of why I was such a terrible person. Mod-approved numbered lists of why I was such a terrible person. I was an annoying, self-righteous prick about stuff too, and after being one and coming out of it relatively unscathed and having learned from the experience, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

That's why I'm telling you now. Cut it out before you piss off the wrong person.
