Well, that, too.

Guess what I heard on the radio after watching this episode:

Heidi breaking up with Cartman was a call back to the whole "breaking up with Garrison" thing.

People play themselves as the victim to avoid taking responsibility, but this just leads to bad things.

Of course, some might see it as being in poor taste with all that Hollywood garbage, but I really feel that is shouldn't be read that way. Otherwise we'd miss the point.

And the point with her is that even if she is a victim she doesnt want to be one anymore.

These seasons seem to be getting shorter and shorter, not just the amount of episodes but also the amount of story we get. It feels like the season had barely started before it was over.

[up] I know. I am still in the mindset that this is the mid season finale and the series will continue in the mid winter up to spring just like in past season. But in reality South Park seasons nowadays are only 10 episodes and they are all very story driven; so naturally every story feels like a start to something.

I think been that way since it started being heavily story based in season 18. Basically all their season finales aince then feels like a start to the next season plot; which is kind of a bad thing considering the large wait fans of the show will have in between December and September of next year.

You know, I think back to Giant Dousche and Turd Sandwich and wonder how much South Park influenced the idea that voting doesn't matter because they are both the same.

Except they had to run that back when... that man was gaining popularity. We know now that US ploitics aren't nearly as Grey and Gray as we thought: There are actual villains.

But I'll stop here. Politics should be discussed in the On Topic section and I don't wanna derail this thread. It's a thought I had which I found interesting.

In the time of Al Gore, John Kerry, George W Bush, and Third Way Democrats, there really wasn't that huge a difference between the two parties in terms of policy. Fox News essentially allowed the GOP to go insane, especially once Obama got elected.

[up][up]All I'm saying is that, for people that supposedly didn't want Trump to get elected, they sure picked an exquisite moment to revive that particular gag.

I think the point was more that Hillary was just as bad a choice, though I haven't heard a lot of arguments for that beyond that she's bad and untrustworthy.

I think it was just a call back. The bigger gag during those episodes was them making fun of her for being bad at debates.

[up] Pretty much. I am amazed they didn’t went far with the parody during that season by lampshading the email scandals of her rigging the Democrat Party Elections, especially with Season 20’s main plot on being dicks on the internet (well they kind of did with Hilary siding with the Dutch who wants their Troll finding application to take off). I’ll just add that to my growing list of “Perfectly Wasted Plots” in Season 20. Right next to the Memberberries, Gender Wars, and JJ Abrams.

Except she wasn't a bad choice, she was an "average" choice at worst; which is what makes the "Doosch and Turd" argument a poor one.

But as stated earlier, that's getting into political talk, which is best saved for a General.

I never thought she was a bad choice, that was just what I was hearing as a reason.

Honestly, it was kind of hard to tell, what with Trump overshadowing her in the news.

Okay, so I'm bingewatching this show, right?Am I the only fan who actually finds Cartman even more unlikable than Kyle's mom and Shelley?

The dude is a monster compared to those two. People like to rag on those two (especially the former), but the difference I see with those two compared to Cartman is that at least those two are Out of Focus. With Kyle's mother, all the shit she did ended up being reset, so it was like it never happened, and she's atoning for her actions. With Shelley, she's an annoying Big Sister Bully toward Stan, but she's still not as evil and there was an episode that portrayed her sympathetically.

Three are far too many things I can list that Cartman has done, but I'll bring up two. For instance, in the lice episode, Cartman was too willing to get kids to act unnecessarily cruel to the poor sap who was discovered to have lice. In the episode when Kyle was discovered to be the "ugliest" 4th grade boy, Cartman was being more annoying than usual (heck even Butters was being an unnecessary dick towards Kyle).

It has long become clear that Butters is agreeable rather than nice.

Problem with that is said election sub plot is heavily tied with the Memberberries plot who are set up to being an important plot line in the season . . . until they drop it, focus on the trolling/Danish plot point and left a big plot hole in the Memberberries origin and how they are responsible for everybody being asshole. So yeah I guess its not really important . . . wait why am I expaining this for, I only reveal that spoiler just as joke to people not wanting any spoilers from a previous season by treating a reveal that everybody knows as a secret.

I wonder if Parker and Stone saying a long time ago that the only celebrity they've mocked on the show that they actually hate is Barbra Streisand is still true.

I know there’s a few they have legitimately disliked, but for understandable reasons. Like Michael Moore, when he edited Bowling for Columbine in a way to make it look like they made a cartoon about guns when they didn’t. It’s why they went after him so hard in Team America.

Looks like South Park was onto something after all with its depiction of Garrison not wanting to be president. At least now they have a hook for next season, I suppose.
