Well, I'm not sure how massive of a black hole she could be. I'm still not entirely convinced that she can change her mass. Then again, she could be getting extra mass from her gourd.

Abilities in Touhou tend to be any variation of the stated power you can think of. So Suika probably can change her mass. Likely limits on how much, though.

I wonder if ZUN will ever reveal the other two Devas of the Not-Living-on-the-Mountain-Anymore.

He will, in one of his music CDs or official manga, but not the main games. At least one of the others will turn out to be a man.

Anyone else get the feeling that instead of being a formal organization, they're just a rock climbing club that just so happens to consist of the strongest oni? And then they play DnD Thursday nights.

They got sick of living in the Ancient City so they started their own club, with blackjack and hookers.

And it's been theorized that Konngara is one of the Devas.

Someone around here once ordered the characters by physical strength, and put Suika above Yuugi, citing her density powers as giving her an edge. I still say Yuugi should go above Suika, because I'm sure the other oni know about Suika's power, and yet they still gave Yuugi the title "Yuugi the Strong", despite that "edge" Suika has. So Yeah. I think Yuugi's just that strong.

Do you think Suika upset the power balance of Gensokyo in any way? Its hard to tell with Reimu putting the boot to troublemakers but Aya and Nitori sure act ambivalent about the possible return of the Oni so at the least it would affect the status quo of Youkai Mountain.

Thinking on it, I don't think Kanako would be too happy if the Oni returned to the mountain since it would threaten her influence with the youkai there.

Has anyone read any fanworks that dealt with Kanako's reaction to or thoughts about Suika?

Considering it's canon that Suika beat Reimu, I think just maybe her presence is screwing with some power struggles and stuff. That and her status as an oni and the mountain, etc. Apparently the Great Tengu doesn't want the Tengu associating with her.

Of course, she's probably too drunk to care about exerting her authority.

I don't think she's had to major an effect, as she hasn't actually done anything, and there's not much you can do to stop her if she wants to do anything. She probably just has the Gods, Kappa and Tengu wary. Which may be a problem for her, since they're the most influential groups in Gensoukyou (possibly excepting the Myouren Temple).

Suika's biggest effect on the power structure in Gensokyo is serving as a kind of limiter.

Suika's here and not leaving, so if you really want to make any large-scale changes you have to include the possibility of her. Given that Suika and Tenshi are the only ones who canonically defeated Reimu, and Tenshi was defeated as well canonically(Suika beat her as well), it's very clear there are few around who would be able to just straight up manhandle Suika. Yukari and potentially Yuugi are the first two that come to mind. Yuyuko too, but only if she used her power. Yuyuko isn't liable to plot anything needing to get Suika out of the way, Yukari is lazy and Yuugi is fine with Suika, so none of them would be in trouble here anyway. However, for example, Kanako and the Tengu must keep vigilance on her. Suika could probably kick the collective asses of all the Tengu and would probably even beat Kanako. The Underground, too.

As for Yuugi vs. Suika in strength...I definately think Suika is stronger physically, but Yuugi may be stronger mentally and power-wise. We still don't know what Yuugi's power IS, but most of the things people tend to think of fall under game breaking. For example, say she could steal powers: She could concievably absorb Yukari's power for an easy win or even just take Suika's for an even mirror match. I also think Yuugi is less clouded and more fortified mentally. Because of this, she may be overall stronger, but not physically. On a related note, I know that Yuugi's Deva title is Yuugi the Strong, but do we know Suika's? Touhou Wiki seems to lack it...

Also, random : One of the remaining Deva of the Mountain, most likely the last, will be evil and the main antagonist. If it is the fourth Deva, then there will be three playable characters and each will have a Deva partner: Reimu will get Suika, Marisa will get Yuugi, and the third character(Sanae?) will get the third Deva. Alternately, Suika/Yuugi will be bosses.

Suika's title varies a lot, but it usually has 'Pandaemonium' in it.

Note that a character's ability, magical strength, and physical strength are all seperate. Yuugi probably has a broken ability, but her status as a stage 3 boss suggests she can't use it too well (even if she's holding back, so is half the damn cast).

Oh, and a : Konngara will return as a stage 4 boss. Half the characters get her, the others get Sariel.

Indeed. Interestingly, the only time it lacks Pandemonium in the name is SWR and Shoot the Bullet. Must be an S thing. Her most used title is Little Pandemonium or Tiny Pandemonium, three times.

Also, another thing to note: Mythologically, two-horned Oni > one-horned Oni > zero-horned Oni. However, Perfect Momento seems to very slightly contradict this. Or, at the least, remove the zero-horned part.

I agree. Look at SSiB, when Yukari sent Ran to recruit the various power factions of Gensokyo that included Suika by herself representing the power faction of Oni. Also, even though it wasn't part of the original plan, I think Suika included herself and used her gathering powers to aid in Tenshi's scarlet weather rhapsody.

As for Yuugi vs. Suika in strength...

I sort of see those two and probably the other two Devas as really close in strength. Its up in the air who would win if they fought and the both of them probably have some wins and losses from sparring matches. The only definitive result from a serious match between the two would be a lot of property damage. By the by, the teams the two of them are in are currently fighting in Tag Dream.

Well, Yuugi's power is Control of Supernatural Phenomena.

Heck, she may be able to control other peoples' powers. Who knows.

^^^ Yeah, Suika did use her gathering powers in SWR, as shown near the end of Patchy's scenario. It seems more like she did it in boredom rather than to aid Tenshi, though.

Presumably, whenever the four Deva get together and start a fight the world explodes. And even though the fight had Suika vs. Yuugi, that seemed to peter out pretty fast. Then again, this whole match seems like it's gone somewhat fast, since we're only 27 in and the match has already practically accelerated through, so Suika and Yuugi are liable to pull something again...
