In SWR they're all sequential. I can't remember how it works for IAMP, but nothing really happens anyway.

Personally, I think they look more like bullets.

i hate the "suppository" thing so, so much.

I've never actually made it to Reisen or watched her battle, so I have no idea about the supposedtory bullets.

But I really hope that alone wouldn't doom Reisen from badassness. Especially since her SWR bullets seem pretty badass to me.

Still need to get on Advent Cirno, too.

And somehow I get the feeling pressing Reisen's memory of deserting, ala Satori, would more likely result in a pissed off Reisen then a scared one. I dunno why, maybe because I see any thoughts on it being more self-loathing, so she'd work to redeem it by kicking ass and taking names for the people she left behind or something when pushed in such a mind rape-y manner.

EDIT: Damn we're moving fast like three new posts in the time it took me to make this one.

Personally I think its a funny meme, and honestly, I never got that image out of my head.

After all moon rabbits do make medicine so I guess its in line that they have guns that shoot suppositories.

IaMP has every character go through the same events, with none of the paths referencing the others. Only one can be canon, and from what I've heard it's Suika's.

At least that means Reisen's won some fights in canon. That's nice to know.

And yeah, I was thinking of the part at the end of the stage where all the Youkai warn their human partners not to look at the moon but it doesn't hurt the Youkai because it only works on humans.

As for Reisen vs Koishi, I'd like to point out that Satori's powers which don't work on Koishi work directly through the brain, via telepathy. Koishi's powers also worked via telepathy, and when she closed the third eye she explicitly and intentionally cut off any pathway between her brain and the outside world which can be accessed by telepathy. So of course Satori's powers don't work. Reisen's powers, meanwhile, use your eyes and, if need be, your ears as pathways, so they'd probably still work. Probably.

If it were suppositories wouldn't that make Reisen an object of fear rather than ridicule? Danmaku is usually mostly painless and non-lethal but hypothetical-Reisen has to twist the knife by utterly humiliating you. If she did shoot suppositories, you'd be the laughing stock rather than her.

Its insult to injury.

Well, I guess it all depends on just how telepathy works. But yeah, I suppose that it would work on Koishi.

I think Koishi has a bit of an edge powerwise, and I'm sure the subconscious manipulation could be used for a lot of meaningful things in a duel of insanity vs. subconscious. The fact Koishi generally seems to act somewhat more reserved, inside at least and to me, means she might handle the world going fuckernuts around her better then some people, which could be useful.

EDIT: Also, bocaj is a genius. ^

EDIT 2: The canon page on Touhou Wiki seems to indicate that Suika's path is indeed the canon path in Immaterial and Missing Power.

Generally I like Reisen as a character as long as she doesn't open her mouth about how the Moon rocks and the Earth is a horrible hellhole. She doesn't do it often but one of the wallbanger parts of Silent Sinner for me was all the talk from Lunarians on how Earth sucks and anyone who lives here is a filthy, sin-ridden loser. For some reason that I can't quite put my finger on, that kind of talk really irks me.

Even Heaven is not at the top of everything. From the moon, it's still on the ground.

Well, you're an earth creature. That's why you lost.

Neil Armstrong would like to have a word with those who say the moon is better.

But I'm pretty sure basically ALL the Lunarians think that the moon is the shit and Earth is like the trashy low budget vacation home, so it's no surprise Reisen shares that view.

Suppository bullets may be humiliating, but bullet bullets are much cooler.

Well, considering one of Watatsuki the Younger's arguments for the moon being better is that their seas are entirely sterile with no life whatsoever, its my humble and non-confrontational opinion that they can take their moon and shove it. Unless its secretly a disguised space dreadnought anyway.

At times the Lunarians remind me of the Spacers from Asimov's Robot books, always disrespecting Earth.

Edit: ^ Since anything counts as a kill in danmaku (knives, norse weapons, buckets, anchors, butterflies made of death, goodness gracious great balls of fire) there's no sense in not going for added humiliation.

Yeah but.... but bullets are cooler.

And they tripped me up something bad first time I fought Reisen. You don't usually go up against bullets with rectangular hitobxes. (Butterfly bullets are still the worst, though.)

Neil Armstrong would like to have a word with those who say the moon is better.

What would he know? He never saw the fantasy moon, he just saw the dead space-rock.

The moon is a spiritually pure utopia. Ignoring the utopia part, which I suppose is subjective, it's still spiritually pure and in various measurable ways better than Earth. Even without strict immortality from the elixir, things that live there are healthier, longer lived, etc etc. They're like Tolkien elves. They're better because they just are.

Mafia Sign "Tommy Gun Twostep"

...

Bond Sign "Bullets, not Suppositories"

...

Grenade Sign "Lunatic Pin"

...

I don't really know where I'm going with this.

EDIT: Also, Neil Armstrong apparantly started the Lunar War. So maybe he does know more about the fantasy moon then we know he knows.

^^^ If there's any fanon reinterpretation that I support 100% over the canon, it's the idea of Niel Armstrong as a BAMF who fought the Lunarians, rather than a Muggle who accidentally insulted them with his flag.

The impression I get of the Lunar War is that it was completely a one-sided guerilla thing where the humans never realized what was going on. After all, they don't believe in Fantasy stuff out there, even after setting up a moon base and all that. The Lunarians talk about acts of aggression and the flag and all that, but not about actual all-out war. From the outsider's perspective, it was probably more like "the struggle to reach the moon".

CiLR repeatedly notes that Reisen only really started to grow once she came to the impure Gensoukyou. There's even an extended metaphor with the Jeweled Branch of Hourai about it.

Yeah, how dare the astronauts reach the moon the evil, blasphemous way by working at it rather than taking a magic immortality pill and just floating up.

This is awesome.

Buzz Aldrin.

He'd be Niel's 2nd in command, of course.

You know, there kind of has to have been a war or some overt conflict. Otherwise Reisn couldn't have abandoned her post during a battle.

edit: ^^ Reisen / Collins is the new Moon OTP.
