You know, I'm not much of a shipping guy (I'm normally a complete aromantic), but I almost have an OTP in Cirno*Shou (though it is an asexual relationship).

• Shou is a sensible straightman to the antics of others. She's also a tiger.

But yeah, Shou in a fighting game could be awesome. Spear, mandala, stoicism... Sounds like a good combination. And she'd be one character who actually looks strong. She even manages to look strong drawn by karaagetarou!

That "Naz and Master" doujin is not the kind that I'd favor for these characters relationship, what with how emotional and huggy-kissy Shou is, but Nazrin's constant deadpan face in spite of her love for Shou makes it worth it.

Also, I have to think about what to post for Shou but I just want to say that we all missed an opportunity to end every post with "Since she's Nazrin" when we were discussing Nazrin.

Shou is both strong and forgetful, devoted yet friendly. There was one awesome fancomic where Shou was portrayed as being a total delinquent before Byakuren beat some manners into her.

It's funny Shou gets the most dialouge from Reimu, I heard it's a pretty popular ship.

I've never seen a trace of it.The only ship options I've seen for her are Nazrin and Byakuren.

By the way : shipping aside,Shou doesn't get a lot of consideration by fanon.She's outshaded by the WAAAAY more popular Nazrin and Kogasa.

So what level of boss was Shou without the pagoda if having it boosted Nazrin from stage one boss to stage five midboss?

And if the player character takes the pagoda to unseal Byakuren, how on earth did Shou get Marisa to return it afterward?

Well, in Marisa B's path, Shou promises to let Marisa have one of the (Very valuable) pieces of the Soaring Vault after Byakuren's unsealed. So probably gratitude kept her from keeping the pagoda.

I'm going to claim that it wasn't so much the pagoda boosting Nazrin's power as it was the power of the Pagoda itself that Nazrin was using. So there wasn't a boost taking place, she just used a weapon in addition to her own power. And maybe Shou is just better at using it or had more power to add.

What I'm more interested in is some clarification of the background here from people with better text comprehension than me.

Is Shou actually an avatar of Bishamonten? Is she just a disciple? Are the two the same? Does that mean she's lying terribly much when she claims that she herself is Bishamonten?

How did she lose the pagoda? Did she even have it in the first place? What's that about a "silo"? What exactly is needed to unseal Byakuren? So, Byakuren was sealed... and so were Murasa and Ichirin (and Nue), while Shou remained unscathed? And she continued doing her job at the shrine? Where is that shrine? Is it in Gensokyo? Does that mean she's been hanging around there doing the Bishamonten the entire time for, what, a thousand years, and it just never came up? Wait, that can't be... There's only two shrines in Gensokyo. Uh?

... How big is Gensokyo anyway? Some pictures I saw made it look like some lousy little valley that makes it hard to imagine that any sort of powerful being could remain unseen for any length of time.

... Also, out of curiosity, could someone tell me roughly what happens in the ending of UFO? I'd really like to know how things go with Byakuren after I read the dialogue with her on the wiki... If it's too much of a taboo to publicly spoil an ending, maybe you could PM me?

You know, I think this is kind of obvious, but no one else has mentioned it yet...

If Nazrin=Chen and Shou=Ran, then Byakuren=Yukari.

If Nazrin = Anti-Chen and Shou = Anti-Ran, then Byakuren = Anti-Yukari.

Let's see, Yukari (fanon) likes to act mature, but mostly just does things For the Lulz, and is kinda sorta trying to keep Gensoukyou stable. Byakuren, despite a somewhat ditzy demeanor, is actually quite wise, and is entirely serious about social change. Yep, it fits.

Yes, because her profile explicitly refers to her "duties as Bishamonten". Also yes, she's a disciple of Bishamonten, sort of an in-training avatar, though she's probably fully-fledged at this point. Nope. She's sort of Bishamonten in the same way that Aang is the World itself.

Carelessly. Definitely since Nazrin says that the pagoda is Shou's. She's talking about the Soaring Vault; of which you are collecting pieces in the form of UFOs. They need Mouren Hiriji's power, since a pice of treasure wit his power was used to seal Byeakuren, and since he's dead, the only thing that qualifies anymore is the Soaring Vault. Well, Shou's only connection to Byakuren was her getting Bishamonten to make her his avatar. And yeah, she continued doing her job at the temple. She was so devoted and focused on her job that she wasn't even there when Byakuren was sealed. Which shrine? You mean the Myouren temple? If so, yes. She's very devoted. There's only two Shinto shrines in Gensokyo. The Myouren Temple is a Buddhist Temple.

And then, mental image of Shou training like a shounen hero to unlock more potential and stuff. Or Byakuren = -Yukari.

Oh, and as for the endings... Well, I've only done Sanae B's path, but in that ending: Sanae and Suwako are visiting the temple (or is the ship not the temple?) And have a freindly chat with Byakuren. They ask about the UF Os, and Byakuren is kind of baffled, because she still sees the treasures as pieces of a vault, and Sanae and Suwako can only see them as UF Os, thanks to Nue. They leave, unsatisfied, convinced that Byakuren's explanation means that warehouses were circular in her time.

In Sanae A's ending, Byakuren makes a deal with Kanako so Kanako will help Byakuren build the Buddhist temple and Byakuren will share some of the faith with Kanako. Kanako's sort of skeptical but goes along with it to see what Byakuren is planning and is surprised when she seems completely straightforward and honest.
