Renaming this thread so it looks less like Complaining. We are here to discuss the comic, right, as opposed to how much it sucks?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Sorry, but no. Tim is a hack. Frankly, he deserves it.
In response to an earlier comment, Scott has not actually hesitated to kill Ethan. I'd be willing to bet that question mark was a typo.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.More a So What You Are Saying, I'd say.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."So why didn't he just leave Ethan to burn to death in his room? Or just kill him as soon as he found out their plan?
Also, if Scott had a window, then why was there so much of a focus on breaking in through his door?
Like it or not, Buckley sucks at telling stories.

Just because the world's ending doesn't mean Scott doesn't still want all his shit. It's possible putting out the fire had nothing to do with Ethan.
So much emphasis was put on Scott's door because Ethan's brain-switch was flipped to "dumb", as it usually is in non-robot-building-related matters.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. The window seems armored. And it's really easy to knock someone off a window that's off ground floor.
Please. So then why didn't Scott just kill Ethan while he was unconscious?
Any way you put it, there's gonna be some holes.
Because he didn't plan to back then? Remember Ethan has a roommate. If he kills them both, Scott is no longer off the grid.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."One glaring flaw, however, is that Scott turns Zeke off and rather than, I dunno, take out a vital part or lock him up somewhere he's not likely to be found, he just leaves him in the middle of the hallway. Because it's not like Lucas or Lilah could possibly come home early. Seriously, if not for that they would've succeeded.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Started to look at the comic. I don't think it deserves quite the hatedom (it's mostly So Okay, It's Average at worst), but to be honest I've only ever looked at the actual comic. Of course, me being a massive Game Cube fan has sort of left me bitter to some of the strips.
I think the new art is better at a glance (I can look past shade incredibly easily if they're not pointed out to me), but tends to leave itself to much more glaring cockups.
Well seems like you were right after all: Scott doesn't care about many people dying as long as he doesn't get blood on his hands.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die.""No, I cannot kill Ethan. Although thousands, if not millions, of lives will be taken by my plan, I must save the man who will most likely screw me over some other time and who, in fact, had spent the entire beginning of this arc trying to break into my room. Good thing this arc is going fucking nowhere; Ethan won't get killed if it takes three comics to actually raise a knife!"
Ethan: [Insert non-sequitor joke here]
I swear the next major plot development will be Scott cutting Ethan's ropes or some shit and teaming up against Ted. Then nobody will ever mention this event ever again and we'll get some Skyrim bullshit.
Fucking Buckley.
It would not be the first time ever in fiction someone feels like this. Killing people far away with a button is easy. It's almost like a video game! Killing people up close (it's more intimate!) is not.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Yes. But Ethan is a douche. He has no redeeming qualities of his character. He tried to burn Scott's room down twice, even before Scott suddenly became an asshole. His wife miscarried and he never mentioned it again, with Tim even implying Lilah should just buckle up for herself.
In other news, this arc began on July 29th. Sixty-seven days have passed and diddly fucking squat has occurred.
If the author doesn't care about Lilah, why would Scott?
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I actually think it's a somewhat accurate portrayal. Some people really do think like that, even if it sounds like they shouldn't.
Well, I wouldn't kill someone if they were a douche who burned down my room twice. Admittedly, I'm probably a nicer guy than one of the villains and I would be a bit pissed about it, but there are some things that I just wouldn't feel comfortable doing.

So it seems the Ted arc is almost over. Let us review the story-shattering events that took three months to finish:
- Scott and Ted are suddenly evil for no fucking reason
- Ethan gets stabbed in the leg and a twisted ankle, but can still be dragged out by Zeke without major blood loss (and his injuries will probably be healed by the next fucking comic)
- Ted leaves in a fucking obvious cliffhanger
- Nothing else changes
And this took three fucking months to do. The fight between Goku and Raditz took maybe one month to finish, and it only updated on Fridays.
So yes, I did see the new CAD.
And Tim Buckley can fuck himself.
*sigh* Maybe you could just stop reading the comic if it makes you rage so hard? I mean, complaints from a fan slightly dissatisfied with some aspect of a work is one thing. Reading it apparently for the express purpose of ragesperging about it is another thing entirely.
(Incidentally, Dragon Ball is a manga. Which is how many pages per weekly issue, may I ask? This is a webcomic going at three pages per week.)

That's the problem. It's So Bad, It's Good. I want to put it down, but every time I try to another trainwreck happens and I have to see if Buckley will come to his senses and end the comic there and soon I'm reading for another year.
Also, forgot to mention that Buckley already has the next six or so comics already finished, only uploading them in fragments because he wants to keep that same fucking four-panel format.
On the subject of update schedules, it's worth pointing out that there are plenty of webcomics that update 3 times a week (Gunnerkrigg Court and Unsounded come readily to mind) that manage to do pacing a whole lot better than CAD.
Fuck Tim Buckley. Again.
Kinda harsh, much? It's no worse then most webcomics out there.
