For me, it's the dealbreaker for why I've never watched it.
Also, to celebrate me getting into Gundam, I decided to use AI Dungeon to create a Gundam-esque story with my totally-original-mecha-do-not-steel Gundam Golgota fighting against the totally-not-knockoff Principality of Beom.
It ended pretty fucking crazy though, with a climactic fight against an enemy pilot called "Azazel C. Liu" (completely generated by the AI, mind you) who just wouldn't die. No matter how many times I did actions that could. I ripped him out of his cockpit, slashed at him with the beam saber, punted him across the abyss of space, he just wouldn't die, untill I literally tried to crush him with the Gundam's hands...and he transformed into a mecha-sized demon dog who wanted to claim my character's soul. Yeah.
By the way, the Gundam this guy piloted was specifically a GN-001 Gundam Exia, which I looked up and discovered it's apperently from Gundam 00. I didn't put it in, the AI specified it on its own, which is pretty impressive.
I would post the adventure if I could, but apperently the sharing feature of AI Dungeon is not functioning.

Huh. That thing is getting smarter.
Also today I learned that Mobile Doll May was a thing and she has a gunpla kit.
...is it weird I find her cuter in her MS form?
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI mean, May's been around for a while.
Watch Re:RISE, that show is good shit.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I know, I'm slow.
I promise m yself I'dnot fall off the wagon and get into gunpla again, but May is tempting me.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowDread it. Run from it. Plastic Crack arrives all the same.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyYeah but I want a cute robot girl figure
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowCorrect me if I'm wrong but G Gundam is Build Fighters before Build Fighters was a thing, right? If so I might have to give it a watch.
That aside, while I could always finish the second season of Build Divers I'm wondering when we'll get news on a new Gundam show. The 00 sequel is still a good six years away, assuming it even happens, but surely we'll get something in the meantime. Have we had any news about a new Gundam thing? Other than the Hathaway movies I mean.
The live-action Gundam movie will be a Netflix exclusive and just got its director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the guy who did Kong: Skull Island and is also attached to a Metal Gear movie.

If it turns out to be bad I may just watch it out of Bile Fascination.
Considering how enjoyable Skull Island was, I'm looking forward to the new movie.
Cautiously optimistic, mind, but still.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...G Gundam is a campy martial arts epic. Build Fighters is a sports action comedy. They have similarities, but they're not the same.
What's precedent ever done for us?I wouldn't know which is why I asked. All I know about G Gundam is that the Gundams in it are apparently toys like in the Build Fighters/Build Divers series instead of actual robots like other Gundam shows.
They're toys only in the metaphorical sense; in-show they are very much humongeous, giant robots.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsOh. That's disappointing. Guess I'll give it a pass then.
Not sure where you got the idea that they are toys.
G Gundam has them literally piloting mecha through psionic interface and really skin-tight suits.
Plus this was the 90's, an age of mecha. Them going with little toys would be weird.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I've seen it compared to Angelic Layer before. I've only seen a little of that but yeah.

It's only similar in the fact both series are focused around tournaments.
Other than that, they're completely different.
If I recall correctly, the Gundam Fights in G Gundam have a tendency to create a large amount of destruction.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I believe that is why the people on Earth hate the G Gundam tournaments.
They cause widespread destruction to their homes and the people responsible do so because they don't even live on Earth anymore.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."All the first world elitists went to space while everyone else was stuck with a planet being broken under their heel.
....Man no wonder the Devil Gundam decided to Kill All Humans.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Honestly, I wouldn't be against another G Gundam, with sillier designs and a not-so-serious story. But I understand that it's a base-splitting series, so the makers may not really be interested in that.
Considering that Re:RISE had a significant tone shift from the previous Build series, I wouldn't be surprised either.

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...G and Wing ended up being the most popular entries internationally, so there was support for it.
I mean, Re:Rise is basically just a reimagining of G Gundam disguised as a Build series.
What's precedent ever done for us?
I believe the hamminess is one of G Gundam's main selling points. Most other Gundam shows take themselves pretty seriously.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...
