For the Childhood Friend girl, I imagine a bad end would be one where you don't have enough favour with her parents, and she ends up moving far away. The last CG would be of her looking through the back window of her parents' car at the main character, crying. Wouldn't it make more sense for the MC(lets call her Anna as a placeholder) to have her parents move her away to relatives? After all Anna would be getting favor with her parents not Childhood Friend's parents.
For a bad end if you do start a romance but still don't have enough flags, either for family or romance a scandal erupts in school. If you have enough family flags her family stands by her. If not they move Anna away to relatives to avoid the whole mess.
But that's just an idea.

If you look carefully, there's more options, including Japanese. Though the VN's supposed to take place in Canada so it doesn't matter, does it?

Alkthash: I meant the "parents" flags to be for the heroine's parents, not those of the main character. Either could work, though.
The school scandal idea is interesting. I imagine it could make a really awesome moment later in a girl's path (most likely the school idol, I'm thinking her parents would be against her being a lesbian) where a scandal breaks out about the school idol being a lesbian, and her parents stand by her if you have enough flags. Or something like that.
Today I did some actual writing, and once I'm done the scene, probably later today, I'll post up the code or just the words or something so everyone can take a look at it.

I got "Paige" in the random generator, so I'm thinking "Paige Clements" for our snarky protagonist. I'm also thinking of "Kara" for another one of the girls.

As for names, I dunno about random name generators... Not that it's a shit idea, just, whatever. I think everyone has a few names that they've always liked and we can try to pool some of those to see what we've come up with... I've always been fond of the rather dorky, old-school name Violet myself... Might go well with the shy meganekko... Or maybe a good name for the tomboy, just for a little contrast, and I guess to establish that perhaps her parents had been expecting someone different from the child they ended up with.

Violet sounds like a good name for a meganekko. I was thinking of either something girly for the tomboy, or something rather gender-neutral, like Alex or Jordan.
Also, odd question of this particular minute: should there be school uniforms? This is in some vague location in Canada, but would school uniforms still be a good idea? It might cut down on the amount of art that [[insert artist here]] has to do. Y/N?
Update on writing: scene numero uno is nearing completion. Man, visual novels are so much easier to write than normal novels.

I'd prefer there not to be uniforms, as although I agree that the art style should be an anime sort of style, I think it would be better to try in some ways to... not really seperate ourselves from anime, but just keeping in mind that this isn't Japan, it's Canada, you know?
It's not impossible to have uniforms though. I'm sure some Canadian schools have them. Probably more schools with uniforms in Canada than in the US, actually.

Well, only if it's a private school really. If it's a public school, no way, but I don't see anything wrong with making the school a private school. Though the school uniforms probably won't be Japanese style ones.

I like what's there so far. I feel like there should be a bit more of an introduction at the beginning, though, something about living in Canada. (ex. "What's a Canada? It's that country that's like the US only with hockey. You know the one.") And the bit with the stuttering seems a little... obvious. I love the weird sort of camaraderie between Paige and Kate. Sure, throw in some German, why not?

Also, what grade is Paige supposed to be in, and for that matter how intelligent is she supposed to be? That has an appreciable effect about what she'd be learning. I'm assuming that she's just supposed to be of average intelligence, but I dunno about the first one. In any case, I think she should be probably taking some science class, some math class, some foreign language class, and some weird-ass elective. And other shit. But we probably should just stick to showing one or two of the teachers.

Another for the same girl would be an ending where the main character is the Unlucky Childhood Friend.
A general bad end would be one where you don't set any flags for any girls. "The rest of my high school life passed uneventfully" or something like that.
One for the School Idol would be if you didn't have enough points with her, the main character would go to her house to confess to her, but would learn that she had recently been asked out.
Man, we need some names for these characters. Anyone have any ideas?
