"I will not kill you now, Darksider," he said, "since this is not the time for petty squabbling, but this I swear, in my father's spirit: harm Link or our teammates, and I. Will. Strike. You. Down."

He sighed.

   "The Blade of Evil's Bane could not slay me. What chance do you have with that glowing sword of yours?"   

   "And why does everyone assume that I am out to harm my Other? I cannot physically hurt him any more than I can behead myself. We. Are. The. Same."   

   "Though there is nothing stopping me from hurting him while he is still trapped in the depths of Our subconscious...."   

   "Also, wanton slaughter... though I might take a lot of you down before being stopped... I am not so stupid as to sign my death warrant. I only attack if and when the situation calls for it."   

   "Do you understand, Galen Marek?"

"I have the Force at my side. That is power enough. And most of us assumed you are out to hurt him because... hmmm... you forcibly took control of his body, and, when I tried to help, thrust me out non-too-gently? And if you don't want to hurt him what do want of him, then?"

   "Forcibly? Nay. I was simply... taking back what was mine. My Other has always belonged to me, after all..."   

   "And to wish to exist, to breathe and live once again - is that a crime? I act in Our best interests."   

   "Also... you interfered with my plans. Plans which were designed... to help Us. Therefore, is it not logical that I evicted you before you could ruin Us?"   

   "For you see, I want nothing of him. I Am Him."   

His voice had a hint of satisfaction in it, of unrelenting self-confidence.

I have met my own dark side - it no doubt had a will to exist, and it had shown me what could have been, but I had to destroy it nevertheless, lest it will corrupt and consume me. Also, your plans? If their objective is to help... us... that it is surely logical that you will reveal them?"

His tone took on an amused air.

   "Us? Oh, no, you misunderstand me. 'Us' refers to myself and my Other, not the rest of you. So, I act in Our best interests - to fulfill the goals that are most desirable to Us. Which, of course, I will keep secret. For now."   

His solid crimson eyes glinted as he observed the ex-Sith.

   "Light... and Shadow... are two sides of the same coin. The greater the Light, the darker the Shadow. As the Hero's power increased - so did mine. But I have surpassed him, and thus take the mastery as Our leader."   

   "To guide Us... in the best path. Regardless of who... or what stands in Our way. If they do- they will be left in fire and ashes."

"Well then," said Galen, deactivating his lightsaber and putting it back in its place inside his robes. "I will not harass you... for now. But beware, though - I will be keeping an eye on you."

The Doctor is missing this because he is still trying to fix all the machines and make the ride faster.

Vezon watched the ceiling in thought. "You know something? Whenever there's talk about shadow and light conflicting, there's usually some talk about bringing balance to the world. But lately, I started realising that this usually has shadow at a disadvantage. I mean, at the end of the day, the sun is shining, everyone's happy, light's aplenty, while darkness and evil is locked up in some stingy cell somewhere. Things're only balanced when there's more light than dark. So, I've given the matter some thought, and I have been lead to a single conclusion: Shadow is heavier. yyYup."

"You, my friend, are slightly insane," stated galen.

"One of my finer qualities."

"At least you look upon the bright side of things..."

"I do indeed, though I sometimes wonder if one day I will look on the bright side of a shining firepit. Metaphorically speaking."

"My erstwhile master should greatly benefit from your... optimism, should he not Choke you to death after five minutes."

"I think that description could apply to just about everyone I know on my world, so it's cool."

It was at this point that Sec crashed through a window, still showing battle damage.

"It truly baffles me that your party has managed to survive this long, Doctor Langley; from the sound of things, it's all your miscreant associates can do to keep from lunging at each other's throats like a pack of starving dogs. While I find it tempting to simply leave you to your own devices, as clearly you will destroy one another sooner or later, I cannot take that chance; fortunately, I see that I will not have to waste any lives or resources by sending another gunship after you at the moment."

This brought a frown to Dr. Langley's face. "What do you mean?"

"I am saying that the creatures have evidently decided to take matters into their own hands. Goodbye, Doctor; if nothing else, your contributions to the welfare of the Hegemony will be fondly remembered."

And with that, the radio promptly switched itself off.

The dragon's actions barely managed to save himself; less than a second after he had thrown up a protective enchantment about himself, something cold, heavy and positively enormous slammed across the great wyrm's back, and even though the aura prevented him from suffering actual harm, the titanic blow still struck with so much force that the wind was driven from his draconic lungs and Bolas was forced into an uncontrolled tumble. Worse, the attack had not been made exclusively on a physical level; even after it had nullified the damage this powerful slam would have inflicted, a creeping numbness spread across Bolas' body for a brief instant as a yawning emptiness suckled hungrily at the mana used to conjure his barrier, and an instant later the protective aura guttered and died.

As Bolas went spinning downwards, he would be able to catch sight of his assailant. In marked contrast to the previous creatures which the challengers had fought, this entity was utterly massive; stretching more than two hundred feet from the wickedly barbed tip of its tail to the cavernous, toothless maw which dominated its face, and with a wingspan of almost ninety, the airborne monstrosity dwarfed even the Elder Dragon with its sheer bulk. With its gaping mouth and broad, amorphous wings, the mottled grey behemoth resembled an Earthly manta ray, but the long, bristly spider legs which ran along the length of its belly, skittering and twitching as though in search of something to grab and crush, put the lie to that comparison. A flash of lighting briefly lit up the sky, revealing that a number of long protrusions which might have been quills sprouted from the leviathan's back, and casting the scorched and blackened underside of its right wing into stark relief; clearly, it was this appendage which had smote Bolas across the back.

A pair of smaller creatures, cylindrical things fifty feet in length and fifteen in diameter which resembled nothing so much as an ungodly amalgamation of a torpedo and some manner of deep sea angler, clung to the gargantuan manta's underside like remoras; and as the parent beast's gaping maw shrunk down almost to a pinprick before rapidly dilating to full openess in order to unleash a deep, almost subsonic roar, these remoras detached from their carrier and streaked towards the spinnerbus at alarming speed. Their toothy mouths opened slightly as they drew up on either side of the doubledecker, allowing anyone who might be watching to see that they were packed to the brim with dozens of the shambling morlocks.

On the upper deck, Ravage swore and drew his blaster as the remora on the starboard side suddenly lunged at the bus, slamming into it with such force that several of the windows on that side of the vehicle cracked and shattered.

"Repel boarders!" he bellowed, just as the first of the morlocks began to leap from the remora's mouth and rocket through the window on plumes of noxious blue exhaust which jetted from the bases of their bulbous organic backpacks.

Rey opened his eyes, glancing at the others, starting to breathe a little faster again. "The bad things are back..."

Flandre would let the others take care of the small fries. Bolas was going to need some help with the bigger ones. She jumped out of one of them broken windows and flew along side the bus, raising up her hand. She fired blast after blast of danmaku at the largest creature, lighting up the sky slightly.

"Great Rao!

Zod flew directly at the morlocks and punched several of them with enough force to pulverise concrete.

Sec took up a defensive position from inside the bus and began firing Maximum Extermination and Defoliator shots.

"Goody."

Spriggan said sarcastically, holstering his sidearm and porting his K3.

Rey seemed to chuckle nervously as he got to his feet, clutching his head, shaking it slowly. "Papi would say El Cucuy wasn't real, but...but was he...is this it? Is this where it comes from...?"

Narumi made his arrival in the bus by hopping through the window and shooting some of the smaller creatures.

Even the Doctor hears the noise. "What in the sweet name of Rassilon?"
