I believe I already posted this in a different topic, but a gargantuan region where gym-bearing towns make up a minority and a Nintendogs-esque feature where you can bond with your mons. Then again, this is just what I want out of the next gen. I also want the developers to visit this page a LOT more.

It doesn't need more new Pokemon. Isn't almost 500 enough? :|

(that said, my inner Pokenerd is intrigued.)

Still rooting for a Fighting/Flying evolution of Farfetch'd, along with a mosquito Pokemon! Some others:

  • Ditton, an evolution of Ditto with a much higher base HP stat. The way of getting it would be a small nod towards the metagame: breed two Dittos.
  • The water starter should be a dolphin. Its first form is a cute little baby dolphin, its second form would be a more streamlined adult dolphin, and its final form would be an orca.
  • An alternate evolution of Munchlax that resembles the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro.
  • A non-evolving Bug/Poison-type centipede Pokemon that has high Attack and Speed, but low defenses.

Close, but not quite. In fact, it develops into a dragon-like mix of a dolphin with a bat! It has pretty balanced stats, somewhat higher on speed and the offensive stats, the final form is a Water/Flying type, and it shines through stat-raising and status ailing moves!

I'll fully upload these ideas of mine soon enough, I swear. D=

Maybe they'll finally bring the series into full 3D.

No, they were spin-offs.

Let's face it: the main games can only stay 2D for so long, and D/P/Pt already employ a 2.5D approach to gameplay, so why not go the whole nine yards? The spinoff 3D games have been average, sure, but they were never meant to be full games in and of themselves anyway.

I think the Sprite/Polygon Mix in the DS games works very well.

Besides, if the 5th gen is for the DS as the announcement says. Then we probably can't have a full 3-d game unless they cut out all the cool extra stuff that made Pokemon so awesome, especially the 4th gen.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!

Yeah, about that. I'm pretty sure they listed that as the first step towards the inevitable doom of civilization as we know in some prophecy somewhere. Let's- let's not do that.

It'd be nice if you could go back to a previous region again as in GSC.

I don't see any reason to face that as it's making an silly presumption that 3D is the natural evolution of all 2D game series. I do not see any way that Pokemon benefits from going 3D.

@Lemurian—I think Nintendo has been asked about that and basically said that they don't think it's a good idea. I can only assume this is because they are on the drugs.
