No, xD, I thought this thread would be about a guy who is likely to screw the rules.
But now I am intrigued.

I think that was my initial reaction to the title, too. It may have been what drew my attention to it in the first place.
I should probably give a quick description instead of making people click on the link: Minds are stored in chips and memories can be uploaded to or downloaded from those with the means to pay for it. A guy wakes up with a hole in his chest, a locket with a picture of a girl, and no memories. Nightmare Fuel and Tear Jerker ensue to an interesting childish animation style and amazing music.

Torment liveblog is still hiatusing. You can vandalize my contributor page if you want something to do.I intend to see it eventually.
And btw I just realized what your avatar is. I approve.
I also really want to see but, but I have a crazy-long watchlist.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.I've seen one episode, and was mostly struck by the animation. Very unusual in anime. Or, well, anywhere.
I watched this, and I say I personally feel this is the best anime for 2008. I still got some 2008 anime to watch, but little I watch come close to this.
I was so captured by the whole thing I had to watch it all in one go. It was just perfect. And I loved the psychedelic style: once you get used to it, it's not that different from old Tezuka...
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?This was the first I heard of it actually but it sounded interesting enough I gave the first episode a shot and I was hooked. I watched the whole show in a couple days.
Visually its the most interesting and original anime I've seen in years, and the writing's pretty fantastic as well. It's surreal almost to the point of being abstract and that's something I tend to like. And yeah, High Octane Nightmare Fuel and Tear Jerker are about right.
I'm not sure how I feel about the last two episodes though... any insights?
edit: I also love that I was lead to the show because I clicked what I thought was a topic about Seto Kaiba, same as above.

Support stupid freshness, yo.I liked the ending. (Evangelion as well as Kaiba spoiler follows) Having Kaiba recognize the happiness in his life reminded me of the ending of Evangelion (End of TV, not the movie), but without having to talk to subtitles or anything.
Though I'm not really sure what purpose the new Warp served.

Torment liveblog is still hiatusing. You can vandalize my contributor page if you want something to do.I really, really love this show. It's probably my second favorite. Suprisingly, the art style was something I liked from the very beginning instead of being a turn-off like most people say it was. And, this is something you guys might appreciate.
The art style is a turn-off to people? It's what made me expect that this is a great series! I'm gonna have to go watch it.
@the first few seconds off the video until I closed it to avoid spoilers: DECANTERING FROM SUCH A HEIGHT!!◊

What! Hrm. Probably hotlinking troubles... ... Fixed?
That's impressive, decanting is hard. Well, annoying.

It's been a while since something in fiction has made me want to cry.

Machinima in my color model?!Once upon a time was there
an old and lonely tree
By him folks had come and gone
And he was still standing still
No carved names,
No dance and prayers
Took his sorrows away
He dreamed to have
All lives and hearts
And own them all his own
The children's laughter
Tears for joy
New born babys too
Up he swallowed birds and beasts
To fill his lonely soul
Now that he is all alone
The old and lonely tree
No more song is in the wind
And the tree is standing still
Once upon a time
Was there an old and lonely tree
The clear and blue sky up above
And he was standing still
Shiny snowflakes, rain in spring
Could never ease his soul
He dreamed to have
The whole wide world
And own it all his own
Oceans and mountains
Flowers in white
The sun, the moon and stars
Even the shadows swallowed he
To fill his empty soul
Now that he is all alone
The old and lonely tree
No more day or night exists
And the tree is standing still
Kaiba is one of those shows where though its not perfect, I'm happy it exists, the third episode being one of my favourite single episodes of any anime. And though the soundtrack is a bit small, it is very distinctive and very very pretty, especially the various versions of the tree song.
They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams for an instant, then it's night once moreThe part that really got me is Mr. Officer and the Water Park. How romantic...
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?I just finished Episode 7. Goddammmit Vanilla, I was supposed to hate you...
Yeah, it's a beautiful series. And it's one of the few series for which I never skip the Opening.
I just want to know when this pigtailed girl shows up!
Saw this series this summer when I was drawn by a pothole in the "Cartoony" Anime thread. Gaaaah, I was absolutely sobbing at the end of the one with the aunt and the piano. So gorgeous. The ending was too fast paced for my liking, when before it was almost lethargically moving through other people's lives. But yes, very good series.
The review on the work page has it about right. The first half is superb and I'd recommend it to pretty much anyone. The second half tries to put the plot in high gear and ends up suffering from a major case of Thirty Xanatos Pileup. The second half is still decent, but it feels like a let down after the first few episodes.

I finished watching Kaiba the other day, and I really liked it. Especially the music - the Tree Song earwormed its way into my head and has been hanging out there for a while.
Has anyone else seen it?
