Oathkeeper and Oblivion as per Word of God represent Riku and Kairi.
> Is there an official list of Disney characters who were Adapted Out of the adaptations of their respective films across the Kingdom Hearts franchise? I ask because I finally got up to the Pirates of the Caribbean level of KH 3, and Sora is understandably confused as to who Joshamee Gibbs and Commodore Norrington are, since they didn't appear in the second game's adaptation of the original film.
Such a list would be waste of time to make considering how many characters were removed for Kingdom Hearts
New theme music also a box...How old are Sora, Riku, and Kairi in each of the games?
Because in Kingdom Hearts 1, I peg them as 11 or 12 while in Kingdom Hearts II, I'd put them as, at most, adolescent, i.e, 13.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.14 for 1 and Co M, 15 for the rest that's not prequels? With Riku being perhaps a year older.
Secret Signature14!?
Sora was 14 in Kingdom Hearts I!?

I heard retcons, which if true invalidates what I'm about to say, but
Ansem the Wise mentions to Aqua that he's stuck in the Realm of Darkness (the second trip as shown in BBS) for a year, and this is implicitly shortly before her Norting in KH 3 (since they're both on the same beach in roughly the same positions), which would make KH 3 Sora 16
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uni@Ultimatum: I mean, I guess we could do a whole separate page on it.
I initially got into the series for the Disney aspects, and I don't think all of the films have been adapted that well. There's certainly a few I wouldn't be able to follow at all if I hadn't seen the film (and a few that were a bit confusing, as I hadn't seen the film in a long enough time that my memory of the plot was fuzzy).
Some make sense (Pintel and Raggetti really don't contribute to the plot aside from being comedic), but others are kind of glaring (Mr. Potato Head presumably being gone partially for licensing reasons, but he's so prevalent in Toy Story that it's weird to not have him there).
βDude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something!β - Jake the DogNamine and Riku stage a bold rescue of Kairi and I'm not sure why Namine didn't just Dark Corridor her to another world but whatever. Maybe they're trying to specifically get Kairi to Sora and aren't 100% on where in the castle Sora is.
Never been clear how much of the Realm of Light you can see while inside one of those things. Villains tend to Dark Corridor straight to Sora with minimal difficulty, but that might also be a perspective bias since we play as Sora. There could be all sorts of moments offscreen where Xemnas pops up and gets halfway through his imposing monologue before he turns around and realizes he's talking to the "TOTALLY WICKED" kid from The Incredibles.
FUN FACT: Did you know that all of Ansem's apprentices are dead now? TRUE FACT. Dilan was the last original apprentice still standing, and he died before Sora even got here. Every Science Bro died before this battle began. The only people left on Team Nobody are the Terra-Xehanort Fusion, the bigger scary that is Luxu, whoever the f*ck Luxord is, and Isa, a punk kid who faked his way in so he could get close to Terranort and find out what he knows about Subject X.
That's kind of appropriate if you think about it. Because at the end of the day, the Science Bros were really just in the wrong place at the wrong time. They were caught up in the flow of what Xigbar and Terranort were doing. They could have been anyone. Hell, Isa and Lea prove that; two punk-ass kids walk in the door like, "Can we have jobs?" and everyone just shrugs and drags them along to the Heart-Extraction.
And now, at the end of it all, Punk-Ass Kid #2 is still here but the apprentices are gone. Because just like how Ansem's death warrant was signed by Luxu for the sake of getting Terranort back on track, the Science Bros were brought in because they were warm bodies and happened to be nearby. It was never about him, and it was never about them. Their entire life's work was a stepping stone to Xehanort's Keyblade War, in turn a stepping stone to Luxu's role fulfillment.
Their lives and their deaths meant nothing. And now they're all gone and the plan to make Fake Kingdom Hearts is moving right along without them.
Anyways.
Riku shows up to stop Saix and they tussle. Saix wusses out and runs off, and I'm not sure whether or not I should demean him for that because it's just Riku but it's also Fake Ansem kinda sorta. Kairi finds out that the stranger in the black cloak is Riku and they have a heartwarming reunion. Then Kairi pulls back Riku's hood and the camera tragically cuts away before Fake Ansem's stupid face can set off Kairi's Stranger Danger alarm.
- Riku: It's nice to see you a—
- Kairi: CRITICAL BLOW!!!
You know something occurred to me,the way Sora is closer to Riku then Kari makes me think they were going to be brothers at some point, that's something they'll retcon in the future I bet
New theme music also a boxKairi master of the dickpunch is now canon.
Excuse you.
Princess of the dickpunch.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Yeah, she hasn't completed the Dickpunch Trial yet where she travels to the sleeping worlds to find those responsible and punch them in the dick.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Xehanort appears to try and hijack it but then Kairi just punches him in the dick and saves the day.
she did do the lose her already learned dickpunching abilities bit though
Secret SignatureHe wears a cup.
Saix sends an army of Shadows at Sora to get those last few Hearts needed to complete Fake Kingdom Hearts. Kairi sees Sora trying to fend them off and shouts that she's going to help him. She dramatically leaps a great distance to land on the same level, only to be ineffectually dogpiled by Shadows and need to be rescued by Riku.
14 years later, absolutely nothing has changed.
And then Riku just pulls two Keyblades straight out of his ass and gives one to Kairi.
See.
This scene.
I thought I was forgetting some important context and that there was actually an explanation for these Keyblades. And maybe if I recalled the lore better, it'd make sense.
But I was wrong. Riku pulls them straight out of his ass and it is not explained. Nomura himself had this to say on it, from the Director's Secret Report.
We're not supposed to have the slightest f*cking clue where these Keyblades came from, other than that Riku's grew from the Soul Eater.
With Riku's, my interpretation is that after his Keyblade became 100% for real and truly Sora's, Riku was still a Chosen Keyblade Wielder, bequeathed by Terra. He was just also unfit for a Keyblade. Soul Eater was basically a larval form for the new Keyblade trying to grow out of his Heart, suppressed by his Darkness.
Once he found his Twilight Path to Dawn and purified himself sufficiently, the appropriately-titled Way to the Dawn could bloom fully into a true Keyblade.
As for Kairi's Keyblade, Destiny's Embrace, she was accidentally bequeathed by Aqua which is why she can wield one. But where it came from, since Riku had it in his possession and passed it off to her? Well, you see, Riku....
...
...
...looted the Keyblade Graveyard for something that looks pretty, I guess.

New theme music also a boxI don't normally enjoy assuming malice, but the amount of times Nomura has gone out of his way to shortchange Kairi really does make me speculate he actually dislikes the character for whatever reason sometimes.

Thank god we have Manga Kairi.
Either that, or the usual casual sexism that pervades manga, anime and video games due to the strong adherence to traditional gender roles.
One Strip! One Strip!Suffice to say Kairi got shafted in the games.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."I always assumed Riku was doing the magic equivalent of an assist, as she didn't know how to summon it (or even that she could).
The keyblade itself was something Aqua had at one point, back in BBS. In fact, Aqua got it after her encounter with Kairi. So though its not inconceivable he just looted the graveyard, it seems more likely the keyblade was responding to her heart in particular, since she has a connection with it. Riku may just have been pulling a "this is yours".
>Nomura
He genuinely seems to have an issue with her. The other female characters may not be the best written, but none of them save maybe Namine gets the short end of the stick quite like her.
Its more egregious since he seems to be actively at war with her character's writing. Her character arc keeps ending with "I'm going to join up and protect all of you instead", only for increasingly thin excuses the plot throws to keep her out of the way. Falling skyscraper anyone?

The awful things he says and does are burned into our cultural consciousness like a CRT display left on the same picture too long. -Fighteer
