I’m not sure that we’ve had many technical details of her kink, but I seem to recall it’s essentially being pelted with bread products. (And it turns out that using a wide range of different breads makes it better.) I think that the toaster was just a useful bread projection device.
A.I. Is a Crapshoot indeed.
= Spindriver =I definitely recall her calling a toaster slutty nick names.
Oh no. He's going to make Clint and ....
Oh god I've forgotten his name
Anyway, Jeph is going to make them really work for their friendship isn't he
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youElliot. Who seems paranoid about giving offence.
But they seem to be getting on okay. They're just both a little socially clumsy and prone to saying slightly tactless or just accidentally unfortunate things that they then worry were disastrous.
= Spindriver =A wise man once said, "Friends help you move. Best friends help you move bodies."
Clinton has a best friend in Brun.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117♫ "Will you help me hide a body..." ♫
Elliot's gotten a lot smaller. He's gone from Chris Redfield to... I dunno. Leon Kennedy?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youHuh. I didn’t expect Jeph to ever go more in depth about Claire and Clinton’s dad, but these two pages are making me think we might end up seeing him at some point.
$20 says he’s a transphobe.
I don't know. It's bad enough he's an abuser. Has Jeph ever created a character with An Overwhelming Amount Of Asshole as a character trait?
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youyelling bird
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterYeah but Yelling Bird was a humorous asshole, I suspect their dad isn't.
Trump delenda estI mean. Corpsewitch was straight up evil. I can buy Jeph introducing a character who has few, if any, good qualities.
I'll always be annoyed by CW's plunge into super-villainy. An annoyingly smug character who is right about stuff would have been far more interesting.
http://www.mansionofe.comYeah, CW's full evil schtick didn't feel good. I would have preferred her just be an insufferable, even nasty person - just without the mind-wiping and slavery angle to her.
I mean, the worst we've gotten so far is Hanners' mom, and she's still mostly a comedic sort of evil. There's legit neglect and sociopathy there to be erked at - and I can be - but yeah.
Clinton's dad seems like a pretty hardcore "bad" parent. While Jeph's speciality seems to be traumatic childhoods (hello Faye and Hanners), we've never seen an outright... abusive parent before. That would be a much more emotionally taxing and effective brand of evil than CW's turn from snarky jerk off to memory slavery with back-up mind-bomb to keep the ruse going.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.CW turning out Evil wouldn't have come off so clumsily if it weren't validating the reasoning of "Bubbles won't walk out on CW" -> "a real friend would definitely throw out their livelihood to back you up in this situation no matter what, therefore CW must be blackmailing her". It was somewhat mitigated later with Faye admitting she wasn't being completely reasonable, but still.
Do we have any evidence on Clinton’s dad being evil beyond the last half-dozen strips? Yeah, Clinton rates him as a “huge asshole,” and him throwing a three-day snit over some raisins certainly seems to bear that out, but there’s a measurable gap between that and some kind of Complete Monster. Heck, what we’ve got so far could be consistent with somebody who was on edge because of a bad marital breakdown, with the kids siding with their mother because she handled it marginally better. There’s no evidence of physical violence or transphobia or whatever yet.
Yeah, Jeph could bring the guy in as a jerkass villain; who knows? But why are people running ahead of the comic?
= Spindriver =Well they're adults now and "so glad I don't have to ever talk to him again" sounds a lot more deep-seated than "they fought a lot and in divorce we stayed with Mom". It speaks that he was a shit to his kids to a pretty high degree, that it couldn't be just an isolated incident.
If he was a control freak, then not allowing children decide their gender expression flows reeeal easy from it.
Yeah, granted, it's certainly true that no kids anywhere have ever sided with one parent and completely written off the other after a bad divorce.
= Spindriver =Your sarcastic strawman is unwarranted here.
I agree with you. We just don't know. If Jeph decides to introduce the character as such a monster, it would not be inconsistent, but yeah, it's a bit of a leap to start maligning him that badly now.
One type of evil doesn't necessarily imply others as well though. I hope his assholery comes more from neglect and selfishness, a la drug/gambling/whatever vice addict, rather than the more direct forms of abuse. If he actually is that kind of asshole, I kind of hope he keeps his distance.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for you
It's the toaster ejaculating she gets off on right? The bread is just a means, not an end?
