Did Ted Cruz do something specifically shitty today? He's terrible in general, I'm just not sure why it's in today's rant.

I think it might be because he calls the Uganda laws against gay people bad despite supporting that same kinda shit in the states, just "nicer" and in more veiled terms.

Let's see, putting on appropriate PPE and searching "Ted Cruz news", it looks like today he spoke out against Uganda's new gay ban, and two days ago he spoke against the impeachment of Texas AG Ken Paxton along with Trump, and in the last week he discussed why boycotting Target for the Pride section won't work like the Bud Light boycott... gross, on his own podcast?

Also, his daughter is Bisexual and he suddenly cares a little despite still trying to spread the "groomer" narrative or hating lgbt people that are not his daughter.

It should be noted that there are stories from the US Senate where no one likes Ted Cruz, but the Republicans put up with him because he votes how they want him to.

He's one of the most hated politicians who can't be unseated.

As I've said elsewhere, he's the worst thing Canada ever sent to the USA.

Always remember the first rule of criticism, Marigold: criticize the media, not the viewers.

Could be part of Burger Oni's persona (at least when she isn't intimidated by Mommymilkers). There are plenty of V-Tubers with that kind of aggressive kayfabe and their fans like them because of, and not in spite of, that. If that is the case, she simply may have hit too many of her viewers a little too close to home with that specific statement.

Alternatively, she could just be Marigold, who is popular because she’s genuinely typical of a certain type of fan.

I remember back in the day, after Jeph himself made an Internet Faux Pas and accidentally spoiled a plot point in Borderlands 2 (in-character as Marigold on her in-character twitter), he wrote it into the comic. Marigold isn't a stranger to being cancelled on twitter.

Are gamers, especially AAA gamers, really all that sensitive about spoilers?

Depends on how big the game is, and how long ago it came out, same as anything else.
