Has Fully Charged aired yet? If so, how's it doing with its target demographic?

It aired. I don't really know. Taken on it own, I didn't really care for it. It was rather bland.

The Mega Man Zero manga was a trip. It had basically no connection to the games.

Yeah. Most Mega Man series seem to go on a complete tangent. Why is that?

They have the bare bones of the series they are based on, but tend to add a lot of crazy shit too.

Archie's Mega Man comic by Ian Flynn meanwhile, was supremely awesome, especially when it focused on its original content like Tempo, Proto Man's expanded backstory, and the Emerald Spears (yes they were cool shut up).

I think that part of the reason the adaptations tend to add so much crazy stuff is that the game series is pretty bare bones when it comes to story elements, and a lot of the things that it would suggest to add are actually kinda heavy. I wonder how kids responded to, say, Concrete Man and Guts Man casually talking about what they want to happen to them after they're decommissioned in the Mega Man comic, for instance?

As fucked up as it was, it showed how Mega Man has a serious problem with "killing" other robots.

Personally, I'd like to see an adaption of the Mega Man X series. I'd do something along the lines of a buddy cop story with X and Zero.

The Archie Mega Man comics actually had quite a bit of Mega Man X stuff. Sigma was the main antagonist of the second Mega Man X Sonic crossover arc. The same arc that included as many cameos from different Capcom and Sega games as possible, to the point that the licensing fees were so high that they had to cancel the series.

Unfortunately, X and Zero games just don't have the popular attention the Classic games do, no matter how much fans might wish it otherwise.

If I wanted to read this Archie Mega Man comic, where would I start?

From the beginning. Unlike the Sonic comic, which went off the rails and had a bunch of reboots, the Mega Man comic is mostly an Adaptation Expansion of the Classic series with a few elements of the X series thrown in,

I highly reccomend it. The comic is excellent and one of my all time favorite comics.

There are only 55 issues of the Mega Man comic. Compared to Sonic's 290. Of course that doesn't include the 94 issues of Sonic Universe, the 32 issues of Knuckles, a couple dozen 48 page specials and maybe half a dozen assorted three issue long mini-series.

The Legacy Collection's sales disagree with you.

As the previous post said, Mega Man had much less time to explore material than Sonic.

My favorite Mega Man adaptation is the Ruby-Spears cartoon, as well as The Protomen and The Megas. ^^ I generally don't mind when things deviate in adaptations as long as the story and characters are interesting or at least memorable. I love the games a lot too, and generally enjoyed all of the series.

I didn't care too much for the Archie comic adaptation, though I was saddened when it was "put on hiatus." At the time a lot of people thought it actually was on hiatus and would come back soon, even though promos leading up to it and the refund letter said it was the final issue.

My main problems with the comic were a mix of Writing for the Trade meaning some arcs were too short while others felt too long, this stuff from ish 49, Rock and his siblings "not truly having free will" even though they can think and feel emotions to the point of furious anger, fear, and crying, and the whole thing with Dr. Lalinde removing Tempo's emotions—the writers even caught on to how bad it came across and softened it so her chip was already damaged rather than Lalinde intentionally destroying Tempo's personality.

I kinda feel like it had a problem of trying to be dark and meaningful while keeping to the happy Classic series tone, albeit while also addressing the darker stuff in X and beyond, so the result was severe tonal Mood Whiplash even discounting the other series. The final issue was a pretty good example of that, as Dr. Light sees everything destructive that will happen in the future but is happy that heroes like Mega Man will be around to defend it.

I'm sad we'll never see more of Vesper Woman, who was based on the concept art of Honey Woman (they wouldn't allow actual Honey Woman to be used) XD; She was so cute and a nice contrast to Tempo.

[up] As far as I'm concerned, the Megas' personalities for the Robot Masters are all canon. Especially Magnet Man dating and being broken up with by Roll. That shit is gold.

The Protomen are much more obviously their own thing seperate from Mega Man canon, but they're by far my favorite Mega Man-related thing, official or no.

Magnet Man's song is probably my favorite Megas song cause it's so freaking catchy, though Shadow Man, Proto Man, and Snake Man's come close.

The only problem I have with recommending Archie Mega Man is that it was cut short and doesn't have an ending. If that kind of thing bothers you, don't read it.

On the bright side, now that the Legacy Collections are you you can play the games to see what happens next! (The Zero series also had a collection on DS.)

The games don't have Tempo.

Also other than Mega Man 2 I don't really like the Classic series very much.
