@Raso: I doubt that Akamatsu would do that to his audience. I still think that the movie is going to cover the Jack/Negi battle.
Reaction Image RepositoryThe trope would actually more accurately described as Chick Gravitator than Chick Magnet.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. When Kaede was defeated by one of the averruncus, did they explicitly say she had been sent to the eternal garden or not? I seem to remember it being stated that she was in fact sent.
Imagine Rakan applying Calling Your Attacks to doing paperwork.~Anarchy Rakan for the hell of it COMMISSION THIS BRIDGE!~EHKImpossible; NO ONE is able to withstand negi.
Nah, don't worry, that didn't happen. She's wounded, but fine.

"Your Sig is now charmingly out of date" — Vox, 7/6/2016None of the Ala Alba characters defeated by Quintum (that's who beat Kaede) had their exact fates revealed - we didn't even see their bodies fall to the ground, for that matter. I've been suspicious of that from day one.
Like I said, the Chick Magnet trope operates more like gravity than magnetism.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Ah. I see.
Imagine Rakan applying Calling Your Attacks to doing paperwork.~Anarchy Rakan for the hell of it COMMISSION THIS BRIDGE!~EHKNo, I am sticking with the magnets because that was actually an accidental comparison when I used the positive ends of a magnet thing. Chao and Negi do not attract each other. It's like they're both the main characters of stories that happen to intersect at Mahorafest and thus pick up their own love interests.
If we use the gravity theory, will that mean they are extra attracted to each other?
..........Wow, this is getting silly. >.> Chao could be attracted to negi, for all we know.......I hope we get to find out in the future. :/

"Your Sig is now charmingly out of date" — Vox, 7/6/2016Is it possible to get a translation of the Spoilers? I'd at least like to know what Kaede's group was saying-maybe an explanation to how they recovered?

I imagine it will take a little while before translations are up........unless anyone here speaks japanese, which would be awesome.
"Your Sig is now charmingly out of date" — Vox, 7/6/2016@Arha: Well, I'll admit that in the absence of any definitive evidence, any given example could work either way.
@tvtropesnoob: I think so. I'm not clear on whether the gravitational attraction between two bodies changes with how much mass difference is there between them (assuming one of them remains at constant mass for the purposes of measurement).

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Red Savant does full chapter translations of the text once the full raw is up.

Imagine Rakan applying Calling Your Attacks to doing paperwork.~Anarchy Rakan for the hell of it COMMISSION THIS BRIDGE!~EHKDon't suppose he could be convinced to do the spoiler pics? ........Oh, wait, does he even read spoilers?
IIIIIIIIIIIII thought so. So, if she comes back, we should just go ahead and slap 'official ship' on those two. Chao would be her own great grandma. O_o

"Your Sig is now charmingly out of date" — Vox, 7/6/2016In other news... Does ME!Negi's (at least previous) vulnerability to anti-demon techniques and spells count as Kryptonite Factor or Logical Weakness?
edited 7th May '11 3:27:08 PM by MarqFJA
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Neither, really. They're techniques designed to hit beings of a certain nature. That's kind of like saying bacteria has a kryptonite weakness to penicillin. Or better yet, that a flu vaccine is a kryptonite factor for the flu.

I'd say Logical Weakness He was turning into a demon so it makes sense Anti-Demon techniques would hurt him.
That's not a logical weakness though. Those techniques are just things people came up with to hurt things like him. So far as we know there is nothing about it that makes it really fit the trope.
@TVTropesNoob: Yeah, I do preliminary translations as soon as I can get my hands on a complete, relatively good-resolution set of raws. DOmen is usually the one providing those, so together we are the Super-Early Chapter Release Team.
...DOmen, we need a better name.
It's been fun.@Arha: I don't see anything in Logical Weakness' description that supports your argument. Might I ask what you are basing it on?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Logical weakness is about stuff that works like fireballs not working in the rain or characters with super hearing being easily deafened. The shinmeiryu techniques were invented to deal with possessed entities. It's like instead of fire not working not because it's too wet but because you stopped the person from being able to use fire in the first place. Or had a magical way of making the fire not get to its target.
I just don't think it's the same thing. It's one kind of superpower working against the thing it was specifically designed to counter. It's a weakness, but not a Logical Weakness.

Let's see Anti demon spells have been around since Love Hina and Negi starts turning into a demon so what foes everyone think about using and does use.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!^^I think he's saying that it makes sense that anti-demon spells are effective against demons, because they were engineered that way, and that Logical Weakness is more along the lines of mundane or neutral things that negatively affect a person's powers - that is, anti-demon spells are explicitly an attack, but something like a rainstorm cancelling the ability to use fireballs is more what Logical Weakness is for.
^...That's nowhere near Logical Weakness.
edited 7th May '11 3:55:16 PM by RedSavant
It's been fun.Exactly. Bullet proof armor isn't a logical weakness for a sniper, it's a specific defense made to counter something.
And if you look at Logical Weakness' example list, you'll notice many examples that support this, like Plastic Man being vulnerable to "extreme temperature changes and (in some incarnations) being in contact with acetone" due to his rubber-based powers.
You're implying that my argument involved an attack being ineffective against a particular form of defense, which is insulting.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
Asuna is distantly related to Negi and isn't a direct descendant or ancestor. Genetically, it's the same thing as Chao but culturally it's not.
I suspect Chao inherited Negi's chick magnet ability, anyway. In terms of magnets that's like they're both positives and thus repel.
