He better not make fun of his boxes.
I missed the part where that's my problem.Kinda wish this wasn't happening during a pandemic. Having James and Chris in the same room would have been more satisfying, but eh.
This will certainly be interesting nonetheless.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI watched it, was pretty underwhelmed with the crossover aspect. I know there's less options on what to do given they were doing this remotely, but it still wasn't that original of an idea: The two agree to a speed run challenge. And the Nerd was barely in it- he shows up for introductions, and then we don't see him until the end of the video.
I think it would've been funnier if the Irate Gamer challenged him to a speed run but the Nerd says he can't, and then holds up the destroyed Dick Tracy cartridge with a huge hole drilled in it.
I did like the call back to the Nerd's Star Wars review with the "beat a game button", though.

To be fair, Chris Bores said ahead of time that James' screen time amounted to about 5 minutes in total, so I wasn't expecting too much. The fact they're even collaborating together on something is pretty huge enough.
Shit Pickle's cameo got a laugh out of me.
Given that James seemed okay with the Nostalgia Critic slam, I wonder if that means whatever friendly ties James had leftover with Doug Walker, are now 100% gone.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI don't think so, James and Doug still collaborated as of early this year.
Just a person. He/him.[NON-AVGN] Speaking of collabs, here's another one of interest: Craig (formerly of ScrewAttack) and James review UHF.
I'm with Craig to an extent- it's not my absolute favorite movie of all time but it's definitely in my top 20 comedies. So many quotable lines and memorable set pieces.
"A Twinkie wiener sandwich!"
I wonder how the Irate Gamer got past the snipers, given that they were the biggest hazards the Nerd encountered in that game, coupled with no lives, no continues. Irate Gamer, by contrast, had more issues with the driving controls and the cryptic clue at the end of the game, which if the Nerd's experience is anything to go by, is a part of the game practically nobody could get to without losing their sanity.
He got past the snipers by using Game Genie. If you look at certain points in the video, he gets hit and doesn't lose health. Clear use of a cheat device. It's also obvious in the later half where he just blitzes through the game. He's very clearly cheating.

Disappointing, but not surprising. At least we get to see past the first case to see what other kinds of bullshit the game throws at the player.
If, a decade ago, I said that Chris fucking Bores would have more respect than Doug Walker, the whole internet would’ve laughed at me.
It’s crazy to think, huh?
I certainly remember a time where I watched Irate Gamer and he was getting tons of hate.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Oof. James and Mike announced there won't be a new James & Mike Mondays until February 2021. I totally understand the need to take a break (after all, they've been doing this every Monday for eight years), but watching their videos on Mondays was like a ritual for me, so it'll be an adjustment, that's for sure. Hope they can recharge their batteries during the hiatus.
In the meantime, here's their last one for now, on The Wizard of Oz (SNES):

New AVGN, where the Nerd tackles bad games in the Final Fight series.
It was an informative episode, but it didn't really make me laugh very much. Plus he missed an opportunity to bring up the bad emulation of the original Final Fight arcade within Streetwise:
Also, I feel like we've seen the whole "Nerd has to start the game all over because it didn't save" before.
Well, he didn't start over here...
He just had Matt explain the rest of the game.
The only example of him restarting a game I recall is Seaman, but that's because he let it die and saving wouldn't matter.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I think it also happens in the Super Hydlide episode.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationCinemassacre status update for the rest of the year:
That Fear and Loathing AVGN sounds interesting. Hopefully we see it before year's end but I understand if we don't.
Also glad to hear the AVGN 1 & 2 collection is still coming to Switch. I had wondered if it was vaporware since we hadn't heard any updates in a while.
The Nerd takes on the N64 adaptation of the film series that sees Tom Cruise risk his life in crazier and crazier stunts, Mission: Impossible.
Ya know, the concept was really forward thinking, but it generally couldn't be done given the tech limits of the 90s.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.…Huh. Is it a coincidence that he’s doing this review just a couple months after the Joueur du Grenier? >.> I wonder if they talked about it beforehand…
Didn’t know there was a Playstation version though. I kinda wanna play it just for the voice acting.

I don't know what to do with the knowledge that James Rolfe has really been Tom Cruise in disguise this whole time...
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI loved the ending. Evan Ferrante did a great Tom Cruise.
The other big laugh in this one was the Nerd's real life representation of trying to pick up the Laserscope but jumping instead, then giving it the finger.
Since 2020 apparently hasn't been crazy enough... we got ourselves an Irate and Angry crossover:
