[up] What's awesome about Lloyd Kaufman's guest appearance, is James can actually say he had an MCU actor appear in one of his videos, given that Kaufman also appears in Guardians of the Galaxy (albeit as an extra).

Huh… was he as crude as in that episode? evil grin

Moving on… okay, now I wanna play AVGN Adventure. It looks like I Wanna Be the Guy on steroids!

When you look closely, the Majesco logo actually DOES jump into focus... but then the animation loop stops on a blurry frame. This is what happens when you mess up your logo animation.

Slowly catching up…

Big Rigs is………

………

This was actually released and sold for money…? Did the devs have a bad game on their hand and just decide to see how bad they could make it to sell it on pure Bile Fascination? A failure of this magnitude can't not be on purpose, come on. I'm pretty sure it's just as much of a troll game as Desert Bus is. A pity the Nerd didn't make that 2001 joke that begged to be made at the end, when he surpasses the speed of light (which I thought was a joke but is apparently a real thing you can do in the game!)

And next is… oh boy. evil grin

You know, I'm now in the year 2014, and I thought the Mid Review Sketch Shows would get more and more elaborate and over-the-top as the episodes went on… but it's quite the opposite actually. It seems like he's doing it less and less and just focuses purely on the reviews, now. Pretty ironic for the guy who more or less invented the format.

Big Rigs is hilariously beta. It is a miracle someone even bothered publishing the thing.

What's also funny is that it was released well before Steam Early Access was even a thing. There are plenty of Big Rig-esque projects out there now.

Anyone else having trouble downloading the latest AVGN? Every YT downloading site I try either gives an error or says it's complete after only a few kb.

It's not the channel, because I can download other recent Cinemassacre videos just fine, even the next-to-latest one (James and Mike play Battletoads/Double Dragon).

If you mean Drake of the 99 Dragons, that seemed to work fine for me the other day.

Speaking of Big Rigs, I'm surprised he didn't follow up that backwards driving car from the 'Drake' episode with "What is this, Big Rigs?"

I laughed shamelessly at James saying the game legitimately made him cry. I'm a horrible person.

[up]x2 I tried again. I still wasn't able to download the 720p version but I was able to get the 360p version. Weird.

Can't wait to get to Drake. X)

But for now I'm starting 2015, and man the games are just getting weirder and weirder… An Ashley & Mary-Kate game? A 2004 Venezuelan demo somehow made into a Megadrive cartridge…? An LJN «"console"»?? A Hongkongese anti-communist game featuring Jackie Chan as Bruce Lee's relative and Deng Xiaoping's decapitated head???

I gotta admit though, that Bat Deduction at the end and its conclusion got the biggest laugh out of me so far. evil grin

Now since he reviews obscure consoles, I wonder if he's gonna touch on Amstrad's GX 4000

I imagine since he has reviewed games for so long, he has to dig deeper and deeper to find interesting material, and that material gets more obscure and out there.

That it did… speaking of which, Seaman. ò.Ô That looked like a Tamagotchi created by Satan. But it might be the best AVGN episode yet. Definitely seems like the kind of game that makes you question your life. Kinda reminds me of Spore in a way, albeit on a smaller scale…

[up] My favorite part of that episode is when the Seaman starts asking The Nerd personal questions, and eventually the Nerd just lays down on the futon like he was in a psychiatrist's office.

Berenstein Berenstain Bears… I wondered if the sketches were ever gonna return, well in this one they did in full force. evil grin That was freaky as hell. And I'm pretty sure he was parodying a film at some point, but I can't tell which one…

Polybius… Well that was certainly… different. evil grin The date of the video (Halloween) should have been a hint. I fucking knew the screamer was coming at the end, and it did alright… but then I was caught off guard by the second one. Sonuva… [lol] Still, the whole myth around the game was pretty interesting − whether it was real or not.

Is it me or has there been a noticeable increase in quality in 2016-17…? The videos have gotten more creative. Also, is it me or James is losing his hair like Doug Walker? >.>

Otherwise, I see in the video list that there's a part 2 to the Sonic 06 episode… I wonder what made him go back to it…

Good episode! I loved the call back to the glitch of Lara screaming at the end.

It cannot be stated enough, from a long-time Tomb Raider fan, how big a disappointment AOD was. I only bought it for $7 used and even THAT was too much money. The controls are so bad that it ruins whatever experience they were going for. It really didn't feel like a Tomb Raider game until the last few levels of the game. The stealth portion was badly executed. It was just an unpolished product all around. At least Chronicles, as uninspired and short as it was, still played fine.

A shame, because those teaser trailers made the game look pretty cool.
