I thought we pretty decidedly conclusively and definitively that Nine is eeeeeeeeeeevil.

I thought Nine was just a haughty bitch, rather than being flat out evil. I mean, Jubei must have seen SOMETHING in her to have a kid.

Can we even speculate on Nine's character at this point?

I think for all of Nine's faults, she loves her sister Caelica very much. I think she'd be a lesser Kokonoe, probably a Tsundere and all.

I see Nine as evil the same way Kokonoe is. Selfish, ultimately out for herself, and haughty as all sin, but fights (or rather, would fight) against Terumi and does have good traits and people they are nice towards.

But yeah, we know not enough about her to make a call on her character. What we do know does paint her to be more morally grey than the "poor slain saint" the story initially made her out to be though.

She brainwashed, imprisoned and enslaved Terumi. Regardless of how unpleasant he is, those are not the acts of a nice person.

If I recall, after Terumi possessed Kazuma, he was sealed off. Nine later unsealed him and basically uses her magic to brainwash and enslave him into being a silent mindless puppet.

I think part of the reason he killed her right when he got free is because he was "awake" that whole time, unable to control his body at all. (the other reason is because he is Terumi and still a jerk even at his most sympathetic)
