Also, don't just say that there aren't rules in Nanaya mode. While it seems like "Nanaya mode" and "rules" are mutually exclusive, they aren't.

Shinigami Eyes let you see a player's name. Because the Death Note needs names to work and most Mitadake High players are Genre Savvy enough to find excuses not to give them out once people start having inexplicable heart attacks, it's kinda important for Kira (the Death Note user) and the player with the Eyes to team up.
Also, I've survived a round despite hanging around Kira and Eyes before. I was with them up until they decided to loot the principal's office, then someone cut the power and I got lost. They got the keys and escaped, I made it to the end of the round unscathed and clean-handed.

Damn, this looks interesting but it seems nobody plays anymore. Reminds me of a game I bought on Steam called The Ship, which had a similar premise, except everyone had a target to kill and was the target of someone else.
This game seriously needs a Spiritual Successor or remake. The premise was cool, but all the dumb people gettng in chased all the good roleplayers away. Can't be helped of course, but at least you could start over somewhere else.
The Garrys Mod gamemode Trouble In Terrorist Town is kind of similar gameplay-wise (Innocents and Detectives try to find and kill Traitors, Traitors try to kill Innocents and Detectives) but the flavor is completely different and it's not exactly RP-heavy.

The best servers are Forkkie's, Maltramac's, Ice's, and, like, one or two others.
And by "best", I mean "every other server is so bad it's not worth playing on."

After messing with port forwarding, etc., I have finally managed to become a host. Before the discussion pages were restyled, I think there was a lot of enthusiasm for the game and a long list of tropers who played. If you still want a troper server, I'd be happy to oblige. Hosting times, contact, etc. can be found on a freshly-baked website. Come and visit if you want.
