Yeah. I do follow some SJW types myself, and that issue still rarely is in my dash.
There is some, but like they said, you have to follow it. If you don't actively look for it (barring some overlapping areas — I've found fandoms tend to have plenty), you'll be fine.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Eh, maybe I just got unlucky or oversensitive then, I suppose. Maybe I'll try opening it back up, again.
Oh, I agree with that, that's just simply the way I've seen members of both sides put the argument whenever it comes up. Sorry if it seemed like I was using that term seriously.

Yeah you just need to be ruthless with who you follow. Like for example you probably wouldn't want to follow me, as I tend to reblog stuff of the SJ variety.
Read my stories!I recently unfollowed a ton of people because I was tired of all the bullshit. There are places to have serious, mature discussions on social justice topics (I recommend our OTC), but I've had a hard time finding them on Tumblr.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Half of my stuff is SJ stuff and the other half is Steven Universe geekery so :U. But the stuff I reblog on the SJ front tends to be of representation issues in media and what/what not to do with minority characters in your writings.
But some days I just spend hours looking at other people's gemsonas and don't look at SJ stuff at all.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceDecided to remake my account here.
To be honest, the SJ side of things I don't mind, it's all the anti-SJ people who make their home on tumblr just to attack the SJ people and cause drama that are a bigger issue for me.

i think the main issue for a lot of people regarding social justice isn't even necessarily a difference in beliefs per se (though there's that) so much as the degree to which certain problems are important to other people.
i don't think most sensible people would disagree the world is full of ethnic, economic, and political problems; that's just humanity in a nutshell. it's just some people are so keen to see them everywhere and consistently try to look for reasons to bring them up even when the complaints aren't all that reasonable or warranted. that's what personally bothers ME.
some people on tumblr also have a major case of myopia and unrealistic expectations of what people in the real world should do or know. you can't expect most people to know or comprehend what "otherkin", "trigender", or even "cis" mean, nor can you really expect that an issue like social justice itself is going to be something that everyone feels equally as strongly about. that's not their fault, and people aren't going to listen to you if you're a dick about it.
in fact, the majority of people don't care or aren't aware that such a movement even exists even if they are minorities (like a lot of people in africa). the entire tumblr subculture of SJ is as niche as you can get and some people just don't seem to understand or accept that.
i don't really like to divide people on the issue: let's just say i know an asshole when i see one, regardless of what they like to call themselves. it's fine to have things that are important to you, just don't be a dick to other people.

On that last paragraph.

People call me an SJW sometimes. To them I say: "why yes, I am a Sandwich Joint Worker!"

I'm a Space Jam Worshiper myself.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceWhy yes I am a Sensual Jew Whisperer
I do like to think I'm somewhat of a Special Jesus Wannabe
I like to think of Tumblr as just a awful site in general with constant updates that only get stranger, and a lot of users becoming the "faces" of the site with a lot of awful shit.
That and the staff doesn't handle doxxing well...
Serious stuff aside, what would you change about Tumblr to make it more user friendly?
fix EVERYTHING
Read my stories!allow better page searching.
Secret SignatureSearch multiple tags, including and/or options.
The ability to block posts.
The ability to follow people but not see their posts (for awkward situations!)
An outbox.
Read my stories! This is something I would definitely love, being able to block individual posts (and maybe even reblogs of that post) without having to block a person entirely.
you could get a tag blocker, but that's just not the same.
Secret SignatureWhy this? Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.
because sometimes you know people in real life / make internet friends who you can't stand the tumblr of, but worry that unfollowing them would seem like a massive fuck you.

Hell, by now I have come to absolutely despise anyone who uses the term "SJW" seriously because SJW has basically just become shorthand for "someone who said something I didn't like/don't agree with" pretty much everywhere. The word "Tumblr/Tumbrite/Tumblrina" used in derogatory fashions also have the same connotations.
But there will always be an SJ/ASJ debate as long as those issues will remain pertinent. Which... they kinda will.
So as long as you purposely keep yourself away from that section and just get into the fan stuff and the weird stories and whatnot, you'll be fine
Really, people blow the whole "TUMBLR IS AN SJW BREEDING GROUND" thing way out of proportion.
