I keep thinking about the fact that once we're done at Wano, the vast majority of villains left are characters we've known for at least a decade.

Well there's not many antagonists left after this aside from Blackbeard and Admirals.

Hey, Two Piece starts to feel like it's own thing five arcs in. Just give it time.

Yeah, that's what I mean. It really drives home how close to the end we are that Blackbeard and the WG will soon be the only villain factions left.

Something caught by an eagle-eyes Redditor: All Conqueror's clashes between Emperors up until now have been presented the same way, with the cloud-splitting effect and the sound effect "DON!" That is, except one - Roger and Newgate's clash in the Oden flashback instead had a sonic boom-like effect and the sound effect "BON!" This is quite possibly the highest potential of Haki, the last "level up" for Luffy to get.

I feel like One Piece has a lot of potential as a expanded universe, should Oda desire. A manga/book/show/whatever set, for example, during Gol D. Roger's time would be a gol d. mine, for example.

I'd be fine with Oda taking a break or outright retiring after One Piece. He could use the self-care time.

I'd say Oda would probably retire, but Shueisha will keep on milking One Piece with extras/specials ecc... which is something it's already doing with Sanji's chapters drawn by Shokugeki author or Boichi drawing the ace novel

I think Oda mentioned that after finishing OP he plans to retire as he doesn't think he'll ever make anything better than OP, not to mention how taxing being a mangaka has been on him

I'd be cool with one shot stories written by him and illustrated by someone else. But would very much personally prefer to not get a Buffy: One Piece Next Generations

Oda's also prolly using every idea he has, by the time OP ends his think tank will be empty.

If he ever decides to make anything, it won't be for a loooooooong while cause the creative juices will be burnt out.

Didn't Oda say that he wants to do a mecha manga after One Piece ends?

Back to the chapter, nobody talked about Luffy being the best mental coach, I loved how he helped Momo pass his trauma over Kaido

After you've bitten a chunk out of a Yonko, everything else does seem pretty trivial in comparison.

Also, I hope that if Momo does still have some lingering fears over flying (because it is still hard for phobias to go away on a dime), he'll remember how Oden held him up to look at the sea as the octopus balloon descended from Skypeia. That way, he can associate flying with joy and wonder instead of terror and it will remind him of how he's fighting for the people of Wano to experience the outside world just like he did.

Finished the Little Garden arc. Good on the giants for putting aside their fight in the end. Kind of a weaker arc but not all arcs can be Arlong Park level.

I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, the next arc is really great.

The ultimate prize and punishment foods being Sanji's Ultimate Straw Hat Bento and Luffy's Monstrous Curry was such a great choice.

Something I've really wanted to see someone tackle is making a huge wedding cake in the same style as the wedding cake on Whole Cake Island (though obviously nowhere near as big).

That is actually hella impressive, but it's still not quite as large as the Whole Cake Island wedding cake, which doubled as the WEDDING ALTER.

Seriously, someone should recreate that Wedding Cake on a smaller scale and it should be all the way chocolate.
