I wonder what's going to happen in the long run, the story doesn't seem like it's going to end anytime soon.

The Fishmen, the Yonkou, the Five Elder Stars, Vegapunk, the Revolutionary Army(whom I think will turn out to be naughty at some point, just to have Luffy duke it out with Daddy): plenty of factions who will try to take profit from this arc's chaos. The story can't really afford to introduce any other large factions without a bad Deus Ex Machina taste to it, so I think the Elder Stars will turn out to be the Blank Century evildoers and need stopping to prevent some sort of global crisis involving world-destroying weapons, to keep up with the story's logical escalation if it will last for as long they say it will do.

In relation to the spoilers of the most recent chapter, I can safely say that my first reaction was "wat"

I think the Elder Stars are known as the Holy Stars or Gorosei in some scanslations. That might be why Beta Ray is confused.

Gorosei is the Japanese name, it loosely translates to the Five Elder Stars (and has even been used as such in the FUNi dub, if I remember correctly).

I am convinced the Marines are meant to be incompetent in general. Otherwise the pirates would stand even less of a chance of winning.

Whatever happens it will most likely be awesome, but I still want to know what is going to happen to Luffy.

... yeah, the chapter's title doesn't leave much to the imagination.

I remember seeing a WMG that Ace's Vivre Card mainly existed to give him a shortened Really Dead Montage.

I guess that goes under I Knew It!.

chapter titles don't get much more specific then that do they? Now I can't wait for the next chapter. I hope Luffy goes into a semi-conscious state, his haki finally, fully comes out, and then he beats the magma right out of Akainu

This chapter elicited a torrent of Manly Tears followed by a Big No.

Luffy's face on the last page just skirted the edges of Narm, but landed on the un-ridiculous side. It definitely expressed my inner feelings towards it.

I predict some major ass-kicking. I don't know how to get closer out of this arc, tho. I mean, it really seems pointless now, no?

I cried.

I feel sorry for Luffy first he gets sepperated from his crew and now this, I wonder how will it affect his personality? also what would you count as the first death of a main character not in a flashback? I say that the Going Merry was the first.

this chapter was spoiled before it was even OUT on any of the sites, so how about a new rule: no one posts anything about the chapter until it's out

If Ace has indeed been Killed Off for Real (and at the moment there is no reason to doubt it), then that makes the last several chapters somewhat depressing. I won't say that they were meaningless, as the events they involved will most likely have major repercussions, but the fact that Luffy and Co. failed to save Ace even after all the sacrifices and effort they went to is very sad. Especially Mr. 2, whose last words to Luffy were to save his brother, and he knew Luffy could do it.

I think that Luffy DID save his brother... then his brother saved him in return... or something like that.

Ace was Stuffed into the Fridge... I fucking cried. DAMMIT. I HAVE SNOT IN MY NOSE NOW! Red Dog. You sunuvabitch. This Is Unforgivable!... I expect somthing like this to happen... But I don't think you can brutally subvert Roaring Rampage of Revenge any more brutally than in that damn scene. Talk about a Despair Event Horizon...
