Apparently a Gay Option.
No not that.
One of the new endings is Catherine going back in time to make everyone's lives better...which includes having Erica never transitioning at all.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Oh dear sweet unmerciful & unholy Lord & Jesus.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."It's pretty damn disgusting and probably ensured I won't be buying anymore Atlus products for a while.
This song needs more love.Time to get off the internet for a while. Deuces.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I've heard it often speculated that Hashino may have some... issues with the LGBT community, given that Catherina and all three Personas he worked on have at least one unflattering depiction of them. Then again, there is the magnificent Lala-sama.
Another reason to get off the internet really.
WILL THE CONTROVERSIES NEVER END?!?!?!

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Does Erica for some reason be interested in girls as a result? Because Ill definitely agree thats a yikes.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Yeah, that's...yikes. Super yikes.
Actually, how did you guys find out about this, anyway?

Oh God! Natural light!Where you find out about everything...Twitter
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. What happens is that it's revealed Erica is actually a gay man rather than a trans woman, and Catherine stops her from transitioning in the "better" timeline.
It's basically a loathsome as it sounds.
It honestly horribly hilarious how out of touch they are.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."This kind of hopecrushing is not what I expected when I opened this topic.
Jesus fucking christ.
Honestly LGBT depictions in Japanese media seem like they've gone backwards from the '90s, when mainstream stuff like Sailor Moon and Evangelion had sympathetic, non-stereotypical gay characters.

Was bad enough when it was just 'Gay is funny'.
A damn shame, I was actually interested in Catherine too.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Even then, there was just a very popular anime with a positive portrayal of a trans girl last season.
This shit is getting outdated even by Japanese standards.

This song needs more love. There was also Bloom Into You, which had a pretty good portrayal of exploring same-sex relationships.
Really, it just kind of flip flops.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Erica wasn't a saint in their portrayal as a trans character honestly. She's portrayed as manipulating a boy into having sex and her friends don't tell him a thing, and she aggresively comes on to him like pinching his butt after he makes clear he isn't interested anymore after that. Shame too cause I like her otherwise. Only the boss was interested and he's a horndog.
That said, what they seem to be doing is saying Erica still identified as a man and thats why she was in the Nightmare with the other men in the original game. Since no other trans or homosexual character was depicted there in the original.
But no matter how you handled that fact, everyone loses. The original game shot itself in the foot and the solution Fullbody came to was "maybe we should push the bullet out by shoving it in deeper till it falls out the other side!"

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. So turns out I was mistaken on something. Erica does not transition in the new timeline, but does not reveal themselves to be a gay male.
Yeah it's very important to remember that Atlus does not represent the entirety of Japan.
This is a pretty transphobic mindset to have.
Huh what happened?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
