Pretty much
And yeah, I know why it’s so hard but it still is kind of nagging there so lol
Considering that one of the themes of the game is "people in power abusing their position so that things go their way", that actually makes a sort of sense.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. It was once known as 'Why Superman never went to Gotham problem'.
Remembered that
It’s kind of one of those thing you have to suspend disbelief and that’s mostly okay
The simple excuse is that Supes is too busy dealing with what goes on in Metropolis to just head to Gotham whenever he wants too.
I mean Green Lantern's jurisdiction involves patrolling Gotham too but they also have to manga an entire star system too.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."He may be one of the most powerful superheroes in the DC Universe, but he's still just one guy. He can't solve every problem in the world at once. That's what the bajillion other superheroes are for.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.@slimcoder "Well they could always threaten to change his heart to keep him in line."
I was afraid of sounding like a broken record since I've said it twice already but apparently no, so, again, they can't. Persona users don't have metaverse shadows. The phantom thieves factually can't steal akechi's heart.
Which is why they're trying to talk down akechi in the first place : because they'd prefer to not have to kill him because the thieves weren't too happy with murdering anyone in the first place.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Thieves should make an exception then.
With a guy like Goro, if ya can’t control him then maybe he’d be better off dead.
Then again Goro is a celebrity so killing him would require some thought, it would have to be done through mundane means so they can’t be tracked.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I dunno, Okumura has a bigger bodycount by virtue of working conditions and is directly behind some of akechi's murders, and his death was still treated as tragic by the game. Would be pretty hypocrite to kill Akechi after that.
Especially when there's at least a part of Akechi that geniunely likes the gang and would like to be on their side.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."True, true.
The issue is there’s no actual way to control Goro or make sure he doesn’t go off the deep end again aside from his own word.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I dunno (okay I'm a fucking broken record on that one that's for sure), when you look at the core, everything Akechi ddoes is motivated by either getting back at his father, or getting said father's approval because he's desperately looking for validation/acceptance/love in his life. Maybe that's why I like the guy...
He gets revenge if he teams-up with the P Ts, and he gets acceptance from at least joker, and the group in general seems to have much more of a grudge against what he did than what he is.
He'd have little reason to go back to laughing psycho if you could get him to that point in the first place. Which is probably what would've happened if he didn't had to fight his cognitive self right after realizing that.
Which is kinda funny in some way since evreryone seems to treat akechi like a letdown boss who's too easy, so I'm all for an option in the game to actually take his cognitive version of him down right after that.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit.""Hate the sin, not the sinner" and all that. I like the idea of making him an Adachi-style Confidant. If you get him high enough, he rejoins, else he dies. Hey, this is Persona. The Power of Friendship is always the answer.
Change the game so if you choose the bad (use the metaverse to rule the world!) ending that instead of the game ending, you still get some kind of final dungeon. Akechi only rejoins in that ending.
Or have Igor just be like: "You're gonna accept his help, because you need it. Deal with it, Joker."
I could almost see that. "You made him a social link, now you deal with him" "but what about yaldaba-" "Don't question me I'm recovering from a year of being nonexistent".
If they really don't wanna give him a redemption, I'd settle for akechi getting a new ultimate persona from maxing his link with joker and beating the piss out of his cognitive self before passing out of his injuries. What would be a japanese version of robin hood, tho ?
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Optional lazy solutions:
Personally I fully expect the first to be what they actually go with if he rejoins in the Updated Re-release (that we all know is coming).

Thing is though, Arahabaki is already part of Joker's Persona repertoire.
Loki is a rebel god, tho
Song of the SirensYeah but he's evil.
Even when he's Law he's super evil as SMTI Interviews point out. And in sidequests he spends his time doing aweful shit for shits and giggles. Doesn't even have class like Lucifer.
Even when he has as the Giggolo with a hard on for someone like Abel he still wants to kill him for funsies.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Loki isn't from japanese mythology tho. He doesn't fit the theming of ultimate personas from the group. it's also implied that robin hood comes from his bond with joker, hence why'd I suggested an evolution for him. And I know that's what PQ 2 does, but screw that. I'd even take arahabaki over that, if only because you can always take it out of the roster, redesign it and give it a cool kit. Seiten taisei is a regular of shin megami tensei and no one complains about him being ryuji's persona.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Not all the Ultimates are Japanese.
eh, fair point, forgot about mercurius, hecate, anat... prometheus... astarte.......
Okay scratch what I said I apparently made up that fact for no reason. The actual theming seems to be switching from being a classic litterature figure to being a classic mythology figure. Who'd fit for robin hood ?

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Only one and half is. I say half because Sun Wukong originates from Buddhism but like other beings was incorporated into Japanese myth.
Unless you get into the weird shit of Mainline like Hachiman the God of Samurai and Kagutsuchi the son of Izanagi and Izanami are both YHVH.
The Ultimates theme is Rebel Gods and Gods associated with Chaos in SMT.

Damn, people are calling it a "Marvel" problem now. Shows how far superhero comic book films have come with that type of influence.
