I like to think Cipher read the journalist's article and saw the interviews on TV. In a beach house. With a drink that has a tiny umbrella.

Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleWe have some HD renders and screens given to us by Namco. People who love to edit the character page have fun.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2... So, the current Erusean royal family had been commoners up until the "Restoration" of the monarchy after the Usean Continental War. However, whether they had ever been of aristocratic background to begin with is not clarified.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Ace Combat 7 Opening Movie.
So, someone did some sleuth work, and the boneyard seen, save for the clever addition of B-2s, is basically a collage of real world boneyard satellite images.
Reminder that 7 drops tomorrow (assuming it isn't already the 18th in your chunk of the world)
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyOh damn. I had completely forgotten it was dropping soon. Lol.
Who watches the watchmen?I have forgoten, but was your aircraft carrier in Ace combat V the Osean aircaft carrier Kestral?
I feel like it was.
Yep, the good old Kestrel. I remember it got a bit of a cameo in Zero. Since I have a PS4, I'm looking forward to finding the battleship in the desert.
Turns out she returns then, and I am very happy this thing takes place in the same continuity as 4, 5, and Zero.... feels like a return after being gone way too long.
Word of advice though, play on hard....
6 missions in with every ace killed, and I havent even taken a scratch. ._.;
The dificulty feels much lower then past entries.
Woo, got the game installed and did the first mission in my pre-order F-4. Still turns like a beached whale, but giving you SASMs out of the gate like that is like 5 times more of a Disk One Nuke than the F-5's QAAMs in ACZ.

The long range Air to Surface missiles are also pretty disk one nukey.
But its kind of made up for by just how aweful the cockpit visibility is, there is only a tiny sliver of space that I can actualy see out of.... and given that I play in cockpit veiw. ._.;
I think I will just stick to my F-2 even if the weapons are worse.
Debating what I'm gonna do with the aircraft tree. Not wild about F-15s, but the F-15 route has the Machine Gun Radar Lock System, which is one of my favorite upgrades in any Ace Combat. I'd go Eurocanard (I love the Gripen), but I want to play with the fancy new SP weapons and none of them have that sexy 20 Minutes into the Future tech available. With that in mind, I'm probably gonna go Russki, mostly because I like the Su-33 more than the F/A-18.
Also, it remains weird that there are 5 different Flankers, three Eagles, and yet still only one Fulcrum.
EDIT: Took my first damage - turns out that those C-17s in mission 2 make a big boom.
EDIT EDIT: Holy crap these drones are agile.

Machinegun Radar Lock System? Is that what I think it is?
Imagine pairing that with the macine gun automizer.
It is what you think it is. And unlike previous titles, there's absolutely no good reason I can think of that you couldn't have both. The main drawback is that one is deep in the F-15 tree, and other other is deep in the Flanker tree, so you can't get both in one go.
Something I didn't realize when I was going down this route - the Russian planes only get a third the machine gun ammo of other planes (800 instead of 2400), save for the Mig-31, which gets the same ammo as non-Russian planes. Also, for the A-10 fans, it gets 4800 rounds. EDIT: They also shoot less rapidly, so I guess the ammo holds out about as long.
Really enjoy the handling on the Mig-29, but these drones continue to be murder on my mission times. Zippy little bastards. Fortunately, I seem to be the pretty much only thing in the sky as unfazed by missile alerts as they are. Then again, I guess the NPCs aren't as aware just how worthless Strangereal missiles are.
EDIT EDIT: Oh dear god, we already have an "avoid the radar" mission. Sounds obnoxious to say the least.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: I miscounted the Flankers - there are 'six of them. I know it's Russia's premier 4th-gen airframe, but I'd gladly trade one or two of them for a newer model Fulcrum and a Viggen or something.

Well, I'm resisting the urge to throw my controller through the screen over that mission where you have to stop the base commander's C-17 from being shot down by SAM sites you can't see until you are on top of them.
"Yup. That tasted purple."God dammit, Belka.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleHey, for any of you who didn't pre-order, the Launch Edition is available on PS 4 until Feb 18 and contains the Unsung War port and gets you the F-4E.
I forgot pre-order gives us unsung war as well. :3.
Who watches the watchmen?Important lessons: Drones, or at least the MQ-99 and MQ-101 only take one missile.
Also, how highly detailed the airplanes are makes it really stand out that the strake on the bottom of the F-104 is literally two-dimensional.
IIRC Most fighters take one missile now, or at least one missile that has the power boost mod.
Its bombers that can tank more then one with there fat asses, and to be honest I would rather just use guns on them, they don't dodge very well and its just more fun. >.>
In my testing it was two missiles for all the fighters I've come across bar the MiG-31 (as it has been since at least 5, although the A-10 used to need three but now only needs two) as well as the Tu-95. Tu-160s and other heavies needed more but I wasn't counting.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Most manned fighters have taken two regular missiles, though I don't have the missile damage boost.
In Ace Combat 5, MiG-31s, A-10s, and most bombers take three missiles, but all other manned fighters (and tanks and the Arkbird and Hrimfaxi's drones) take two missiles. The recon drones in the second mission and helicopters take one missile.
EDIT: Ha, convinced Bandog that I crashed by doing a tunnel run for funsies (and popped some Gripens in the tunnel with my machine gun, even though they weren't marked targets). Also, since I didn't use the return line, no solitary for me.

So um thought because I am kind of curious as to what is frustrating in that spoiler post, but at the same time don't want to ruin the story for myself.
But like, what if we ummm for spoiler discussion at least for the first little bit put unspoilered what chapter they are about? So that people up too or past that point can talk, without having to worry about ruing what comes after? the game makes it easy on us by providing mission numbers.
Counterpoint: He's actually Lancelot du Lac Though the idea of Cipher's F-15 being a mere rank D+ Noble Phantasm seems a bit off
On a similar note, did I ever share my Ace Combat edits of popular Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkrieg meme "Every Ideology an X"? Every Ideology a Pixy and Every Ideology an Ace.
