I heard Steam will make discs for offline use of games you've bought. Is this true?

Backpacks? Wow, I really have to check out this new HAM setup.

EDIT: Ow, I know I said strength wasn't too important, but I worry that a strength around 50 may hurt us a bit in the long run. At least, it'll make travel between sectors with a backpack full of gear annoying. Especially for Ash. I suppose I should have specified giving her a decent strength so she can at least carry the heavy weapons she's supposedly skilled with.

Well, you can always give them to others to carry. Besides, carrying a backpack full of grenades is a good workout-you can't drop it!

EDIT: I don't remember HAM, but I think this is part of the new inventory system; I like it, very detailed.

• We all start with Blackhawk Vests, right? And I thought we started with the one backpack that combined with a combat backpack?

@Trigger I'm sorry. :( I never focused too much on strength in my past games. Never saw a real need for it. I think I'm gonna ditch those TIMS backpacks. We all have smaller combat packs that can carry anything up to a rifle. What's the minimum strength required to handle something like an M249 SAW or a LAW rocket launcher? If we have to, we can train up our strength. Takes time, I know, but it's better than nothing.

Well, it's not that you need a minimum strength to use the bigger guns in and of itself, it's just handier, especially in the later games when your mercs are packing their primary rifle, ammo, some grenades, a medpack, and whatever secondary equipment they may need, not to mention wearing kevlar armour and leggins, wearing helmets, and all that stuff.

At that point, I find that a higher strength comes in quite handy. Not 80+, but 65-75 serves well enough.

So Ash can still use the big guns, she'll just be winded carrying grenade launchers and spare clips for it around, even if you give her a lighter sidearm instead of a full rifle. This will be doubly so when you get mortars. Those things are HEAVY!

And to answer your question, Charlatan... I have no idea.

Truth be told I did not know we could afford M P5s as starting weapons. I thought they'd be prohibitively expensive, and that we'd start with Uzis or something.

I guess it makes sense they'd get to bring good-quality firearms when they first drop.

Also, just out of curiousity, how much ammo did we use?

We all spent less than five...and shit, I forgot to get the loot! I'll go back to get it when I play again later today. Also, holy crap, 100 posts. Didn't expect to get this much so soon. Granted, we hadn't actually started until page 3, but yeah.
