Yup, the Gold Pack is available on Steam. Go get it. :)
Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)Yay!
...
Too bad my primary gaming PC has no internet.
I heard Steam will make discs for offline use of games you've bought. Is this true?
Backpacks? Wow, I really have to check out this new HAM setup.
EDIT: Ow, I know I said strength wasn't too important, but I worry that a strength around 50 may hurt us a bit in the long run. At least, it'll make travel between sectors with a backpack full of gear annoying. Especially for Ash. I suppose I should have specified giving her a decent strength so she can at least carry the heavy weapons she's supposedly skilled with.
Oh, well. Too late, now.

Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.Well, you can always give them to others to carry. Besides, carrying a backpack full of grenades is a good workout-you can't drop it!
EDIT: I don't remember HAM, but I think this is part of the new inventory system; I like it, very detailed.
- We all start with Blackhawk Vests, right? And I thought we started with the one backpack that combined with a combat backpack?

[[tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=12919183980B30760200 Liveblog of]] John Carter Of MarsNice level of detail with the pictures. Hope that doesn't take you too long to set up. I tend to be a real lazy bastard about that.
Again with the data mining, dear Aunt?I still do not have the answer about Steam and offline C Ds.
Leadership: 0
That made me laugh. I guess a psychotic, knife waving medic is not the best leader.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -Landstander@Trigger I'm sorry. :( I never focused too much on strength in my past games. Never saw a real need for it. I think I'm gonna ditch those TIMS backpacks. We all have smaller combat packs that can carry anything up to a rifle. What's the minimum strength required to handle something like an M249 SAW or a LAW rocket launcher? If we have to, we can train up our strength. Takes time, I know, but it's better than nothing.
Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)Well, it's not that you need a minimum strength to use the bigger guns in and of itself, it's just handier, especially in the later games when your mercs are packing their primary rifle, ammo, some grenades, a medpack, and whatever secondary equipment they may need, not to mention wearing kevlar armour and leggins, wearing helmets, and all that stuff.
At that point, I find that a higher strength comes in quite handy. Not 80+, but 65-75 serves well enough.
So Ash can still use the big guns, she'll just be winded carrying grenade launchers and spare clips for it around, even if you give her a lighter sidearm instead of a full rifle. This will be doubly so when you get mortars. Those things are HEAVY!
Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation. And to answer your question, Charlatan... I have no idea.
Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.'kay. Thanks anyway.

Well, at least everyone's still breathing.
Also, it seems someone has improbable aiming skills.
Locking you up on radar since '09THAT'S A COLLEGE MINOR IN PHYSICS IN ACTION, BITCHES.

^ Either that or you've got x-ray vision, and you're using smart bullets.
Locking you up on radar since '09@Trigger I see. Sorry for letting you down. :(
Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)Truth be told I did not know we could afford M P5s as starting weapons. I thought they'd be prohibitively expensive, and that we'd start with Uzis or something.
Uuuuuuh hooray? 'cause I'm not complaining?
You don't buy them when you make a merc, they just start out with them.
Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)Oh, okay.
I guess it makes sense they'd get to bring good-quality firearms when they first drop.
Also, I just realized my character picture looks like Snake Plisskin.
...
FUCK YEAH.

Snake Pliskin? ...Oh, so that's where Solid Snake got his alias from in MGS 2. Makes sense. :P Speaking of Solid Snake, you know who reminds me of him in this game? Reaper.

Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)Yep, my poor attempt at emulating the "Metal Gear?!" quote.

Locking you up on radar since '09I like the picture you gave Daryl. It looks like he's saying "I'm going to stab you in the chest, stitch that wound up, then slash your jugular unless you LEAVE RIGHT NOW."
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderAhh, don't sweat it. It's just me nitpicking and being a bit of a minmaxer with the stats.
Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.Did we get any ph4t l00t from the rent-a-Gestapos we took out?
Also, just out of curiousity, how much ammo did we use?
We all spent less than five...and shit, I forgot to get the loot! I'll go back to get it when I play again later today. Also, holy crap, 100 posts. Didn't expect to get this much so soon. Granted, we hadn't actually started until page 3, but yeah.

Nice, keep it up.
One of the things I was wondering when planning the liveblog, how many pictures to use, and what kind? I almost wonder how one of those History Channel-style tactical maps would work.
