Yeah, well, Japanese Bisharp is stupid, and the developers are stupid for not giving it a chess theme. Good thing the translators realized the error of their ways, it's much cooler with a chess theme than without.

You know, if your argument is "it is stupid", you don't have an argument. You have a tantrum.

I imagine that a region based on China will have a decent number of Black Belts and Battle Girls/Crush Girls.

I wonder what legendaries you could use for a China setting because Rayquaza's got the Chinese dragon thing and the Black and White trio already have yin and yang.

[up] You could use The Four Gods, the Monkey King, and the Jade Emperor as inspiration for those legendaries.

Tiger and Dragon as box legendaries? With the other two members of The Four Gods as cameoes in the inital versions and box legendaries for the upper versions?

Maybe... Moving on to abilities, here's an idea: Reflexive. Any PokΓ©mon with this ability that is the target of any Fighting-type moves will always avoid those moves (Aura Sphere never misses, so it will get around this ability).

Redirect: in doubles, any contact moves targeting this Pokemon will hit its partner instead.

I'm having trouble coming up with a name for this ability, but its effect is that if the Pokemon that has this ability is the target of a Steel-type move, it will instead raise the Pokemon's physical attack stat by one stage and makes it immune to Steel.

Both of those are nice ability names. And here's a nasty ability: Disenchant. The user becomes immune to Fairy-type moves and every time they're targeted by Fairy-type attacks the attacker's special defense drops by one stage.

Makes me think of an opposite version of that.

Enchantment: Immune to Fairy-type moves and raises Special Attack by 1 stage if hit by a Fairy-type move. Like Flash Fire but for Fairies.

Man, you guys really hate Fairies huh.

I got one: Frostbyte, whenever the Pokemon is hit with a contact move or hits an opponent with a contact move it will do 1/6th of damage to the opponent. So its like Rocky Helmet applied on both sides. Exclusive to Ice-types obviously.

Interesting. And speaking of moves, here's a variant of Freeze-Dry: Corruption. Dark Type attack, 70 power, 20 PP, based on Special Attack, and if used on a Fairy-type Pokemon it will ignore the type effectiveness of this move against Fairy and treat it as being super effective against Fairy types instead.

Pixie Dust: A status move that adds Fairy to the opponent's typing.

Basically a Fairy counterpart to Forest's Curse/Trick-or-Treat. I put this one on a Fairy/Poison-type Fakemon, because I figured it'd have really good use for it.

So what does everyone think of Corruption being a Dark type variant of Freeze-Dry that's effective against Fairy types?

I was thinking Corrupted would work better as a Dark Type version of Aerilate/Pixilate.

Both sound really cool. Moves that play with type matchups are interesting. "Corrupted" doesn't quite fit the naming theme of similar abilities, though. "Obfuscate" does, or if you want to be more loose about it (after all, "Galvanize" breaks the pattern), "Corrupt" would work, since it's at least a present-tense verb like the others.

I personally think that Bisharp should emphasis more on axes instead (wink wink).

Oh yeah, I've finished my drawing on Mega Bisharp, you can check it here now.

And before you ask anything about the chess board, Mega Bisharp has Defiant as its ability. It's just for show.
