Everything you just said made complete amounts of sense.

Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens. It might be interesting if the sequel brings in other creatures of Norse mythology. Sea serpents, giants, elves, nature spirits...
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Dragons are actually pretty rare in Norse mythology; they feature much more prominently (but are still uncommon) in late medieval Christian legends. Their prominence in this film can be attributed to the osmotic quality of dragons in culture.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchApparently the Sea Monster bit is semi-covered - according to Book Of Dragons sea monsters in HTTYD are just dragons that live in the sea.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. One of the best Dreamworks films I've seen.
Details on the show coming in September. Mark Hamill will play book villain Alvin the Treacherous
-jaw drops- Okay, I've gotta watch this.
But then who will Kit Harington be playing in the sequel?
Looking for some stories?Low-quality video of the Cartoon Network Big Fan Weekend preview. Holy hell, this is some of the best TV CG animation I've seen
Is it too early to call this one of the best movie-based TV shows ever?
Looking for some stories?I was not expecting the animation to be so downright amazing. Though it seems they traded backgrounds for character animation (kind of the opposite of Kung Fu Panda Legends Of Awesomeness).
And September! I wasn't expecting it to be out so soon.
^ As long as they don't exaggerate the characters. Y'know, make Snotlout into so much of a jerk that he's totlly unlikeable, make Fishlegs into a wimp, that sort of thing. I don't expect them to derail them, per se, but an adaptation making a character's traits or flaws so all-consuming that they cease to be entertaining happens all the time.
Also, Mark Hamill. Playing the villain. Absolutely not surprised.
And I was expecting the main villain to be a human, probably a raider or barbarian bandit or something like that. Maybe also a dragon-hater.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I don't know what they'll do about Fishlegs, but Snotlout actually wasn't that much of a jerk in Gift of the Night Fury. Who knows?
Looking for some stories? It's pretty ambitious from a writing standpoint too. Goal is to make it so it seamlessly blends from the first film to the second as the show goes on
I want to see this. Now. All of it.
Especially Stoic "absconding" with Toothless, which gives me the impression that he tries to commandeer him cop-style and ends up falling on his face because damn that guy is huge.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I also imagine Toothless wouldn't like it. And I think Stoick might have problems working the tailfin.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaSo is there any HTTYD/Brave fan fic yet? I mean, they seem like they could cross over easily.
There's a few, I think, but I haven't read them.
Looking for some stories?Oh my gosh this is great, I was so concerned about the characters would look but.. phew... I'm looking forward to this.
Didn't know there was going to be a series. I liked the movie except the main character, whose voice I hated and found incredibly annoying.
Just saw this earlier tonight, and I was wowed.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryThis film is unutterably beautiful. Makes me even more pissed off that the Pern series of books never got a live action or animated adaptation though...
I love that the Thunderdrum became a part of the group, it is so cool looking. And it fits Stoick perfectly.
Listening to the soundtrack song, "Test Drive" and going "this is awesome!" made me wonder why /spit The /spit Social /spit Network won the Oscar.
So, I've been keeping up with the series and I have to say that this is the best film to TV transition I have ever seen from a work. Truly hope that the quality remains consistent.
Curious about the schedule change though. Anyone with the proper context know if a shift from Thursday to Wednesday is a good or bad sign?
Also, I wonder how they're going to do the voices in the next film. I mean, it seems like it might be a bit of a slap in the face to the TV actors to bring back the first film actors.
Added Note: Fishlegs and Meatlug are adorable.

NOHBODY: 'Which is appropriate, because Scotland is totally viking...'
Not totally, but large chunks of it, including most of the West Coast. The island where Hiccup lives is based on a couple of places in the Outer Hebrides, though it almost exactly fits most mainland Scots' perceptions of Shetland.
