So, this episode alone kinda kicked the other seasons' collective asses aside from a few of the Season 1 episodes.
It's been 3000 years…Yeah, Season 2 was an dumpster fire and Season 3 I didn't even bother paying attention too.
This Season so far actually has me pretty interested. I genuinely like Louis (whom funnily enough reminds me of another Louis, specifically the Louis from Left 4 Dead), Violent, AJ, and Tenn. I did like Marlon but I could tell something was very off about him and he did kill someone out of anger and try to blame Clem for it so I don't hold too much sympathy for him although I can see why he's such a mess under the surface.
I have a bad feeling that the most likeable characters since Season 1 are going to die horribly by the end of this final season tho.

Finished Episode 4.
I've concluded that all of the parts in this episode where I don't have to physically control Lee are excellent. This is undoubtedly the best episode of the season thus far - we've got more competent party members, group dynamics being tested, plenty of action, lines of trust being shaken, and a tightening circle around the group.
Lee getting bitten wasn't that much of a shock for me of course, but still, playing out the next episode with that hanging over my head should be interesting.
This game shares the problem most zombie stories do where characters prefer to stand around and look terrified instead of move, and zombies seem to teleport to where the scene needs them to be.
Still think Telltale designed the world poorly - Lee's observations are too bland and there's not enough to do in each map. Then there are times when there's barely anything to interact with and I wonder why I needed to make Lee walk down this long freaking hallway when the game could have just transitioned. All of which would be bearable if Lee could sprint, but alas.
But all in all I was less frustrated with this episode than the previous ones.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Trailer for S4E2, which surprisingly seems to spoil a major reveal, so viewer discretion.
On that note: Lilly's finally back! ... And it looks like she's a bitch again, what are the odds. I actually rather liked her in Season 1; first playthrough I was Kenny all the way, but after some replays and Season 2 I found myself sympathizing with her a lot more than I initially thought. Say what you will about Larry, but his daughter turned out alright... until the motel gets raided, and as horrible as her actions were I can't bring myself to hate her for it. Who wouldn't have a mental breakdown after all that?

Somebody get the phone, because I fuckin' called it!
It's been 3000 years…Son of a bitch. Here's hoping that unlike past entries the episodes for this season were mostly finished, and it's just a matter of releasing them.
Update, though I'll forewarn it's bad news.
Well, shit.
It's been 3000 years…We are in the darkest timeline.
Mileena MadnessMother FUCKER.
Wow. That really sucks. With Telltale declaring bankruptcy, there’s no recourse for it to.
I guess I did make the right call by deciding to wait for the season to be completed before purchasing it.
Jesus christ.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Apparently Telltale haven't filed for bankruptcy. At least, US Gamer have retracted the claim. Though the sudden reduction obviously indicates some serious financial problems.
For what it's worth, the CEO Pete Hawley has said over Twitter:
Netflix have apparently confirmed that their Minecraft: Story Mode thing is still going on as planned, so that backs up that the team would be focused on that.

This guy I watch on youtube is lamenting that he started streaming the first episode — his first foray into Telltale after wanting to check ithem out for a while — literally minutes before this news broke. He's also having a bittersweet laugh at the lengthy credits sequence, referring to it as a list of people who died in the episode.

I mean...they have to finish the season, don’t they? They sold the season pass.
If possible, they could issue refunds for that.
Apparently the bankruptcy claims aren't accurate (they're just seeing the writing on the wall), so yeah, refunds are likely. That or they don't bother and get sued in a class-action.
What the fuck? I've had my criticisms of them, but that sucks major balls if they can't even finish their first big IP.
The worst part is that the series was finally getting fucking good again. Season 2 , Season 3, and the Michonne spinoff were all pretty base-breaking in terms of quality, but pretty much everyone I've seen thought that S4E1 was a fantastic return to form for the writing. Not to mention that it finally changed up Telltale's formula with actual combat mechanics and an over-the-shoulder perspective. And now it's probably never going to be finished. Fuck...

I feel super bad for my brother. He bought the season pass just today.
We're at least getting episode 2 though, right? We got a trailer for it and the release date was/is set for Tuesday. It'd suck if we didn't at least get that episode since the release date is so close and we've got a trailer for it.
At least on the Steam Version, If you read the separate EULA you had to agree to buy the game, it specifies that the season will be composed of a number of episodes "Will be designated by TTG".note
IE: No firm number, and no, they don't have to refund anyone because you agreed to that.

Yes and No.
They've only released one episode and one would argue that 'Season Pass' would give the idea of multiple DL Cs. No one sells a Season Pass for a single DLC that can be bought separately. That doesn't make any sense.
Also, if they've been advertising that there will be 4 episodes released from last month to December, then it gives the idea that those four total episodes will be part of the Season Pass, regardless of what the actual agreement says. It might not be the big hitter of 'They didn't give to what they sold' but it IS false advertising.
I hated Season 2 and 3 and I hated Game of Thrones, but I don't think Telltale deserved this. I was actually looking forward to Wolf Among Us Season 2. Now it looks like that announcement was probably a saving throw for the company. Ironic too is that the game that made the company what it is today is also the one that got cancelled as it went under.
(2) God-damn it. I knew that peck on the cheek she gave him was going to be fatal.
