Gah, okay. So I get back to Germany only to get grounded from my computer because of my stupid mouth saying things I shouldn't have to my mother. Wonderful. I'll update whenever I can, but it'll be hard to do that on an iTouch.
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiThis. Is. Not. Dead.
I've just hit a roadbump that's slowed everything down right now. My bro's letting me use his laptop on occasion, so I can make updates from that, if he lets me, but I also have a job now, so yeah. Clockwork sent me a power sheet for the Paladin, which is very awesome, props to him. So don't lose hopes fellas, anything you can do or suggest to help this along will be appreciated while I sort my life out!
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiUp-Fucking-Date.
From my Bro's computer.
Okay, so, clockwork, who's made of awesome and win, went ahead and did most of the Paladin Job for me, so check out the Paladin Tab for some cool shit. In addition to this I did Armor descriptions in the Equipment Section. and can finally do Weapon and Armor proficiencies for each Job now.

"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiUPDATE! HONEST TO GOD UPDATE!
Gunner Chart AND Hunter Chart are up! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!
Also, B-mage, Gunner and Hunter have Weapon Proficiencies! We're that much closer to completion! Yay!
Also, Hunter Techniques! GO!!
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiI refuse to let this die.
Update, most of the Hunter's special abilities have their descriptions now. I just need descriptions for Improved Quarry and Huntmaster and I can get to work on Techniques, which should be simple enough, concerning that anyone with a Bow gets plenty of techniques in Final Fantasy Tactics [INSERT END OF TITLE HERE].
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiHey look an update. Hunters now have most of their Basic techniques.
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiYo. TV Tropes forum newcomer who saw this board here. Interesting stuff. I've been looking for an excuse to try out a tabletop RPG but didn't care for standard swords and sorcery fare with the elves and dwarves and whatnot.
If I wanted to get into this entire tabletop gaming sphere, what all would I need to use your IA setting aside from the Pathfinder "basic set", or whatever it is you need to buy to begin these? Would I only be able to play it with people locally, or is there some way to play online with others?

=D
EGO LEVEL UP
Pathfinder is a good place to start, and I posted the SRD in the MG forum, but as for actually using this system, I need to finish it first, which is going to take a while at the current rate. Regardless, the system is uniques enough that I'm re-writing many of the rules as is, and just keeping an eye on this thread should help you along.
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiHmmm...
I'll be keeping an eye on this one...
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Oh my god man, you should have totally been there for that last Wormhole run I and my Corp did on Eve Online! We jumped through like, 3 Null-sec areas with no casualties, it was wicked!
...Hunh? Something about Ivalice?
...OH FUCK!
-Scrambles back into thread-
Okay, so, Schedule Slippage aside (Damn Eve, eating up all of my time for being an actually enjoyable MMO for me), I haven't forgotten about this. I'll cut you fans a deal. I'm off of work on Friday, and I got an image processor on my Mac so I can make actual charts and shit. I will dedicate my entire Friday to nothing but Ivalice, eating, bathroom breaks, and whatever my parents want me to do that day.
Scout's Honor. *
That aside, the lack of constructive feedback hasn't been helping me along either. I get the impression that either no one really cares enough to criticize me, or I'm doing everything absolutely perfectly, and I sincerely doubt that it's the former.
I mean, I appreciate that people are keeping an eye on this. And I love you guys for it, but even Chainmail Wasn't made by one man. *

"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiIf I can tear myself away from Gearhead, I'll put in some time this weekend. Good game, try it out if you like roguelikes. Should make a page for it...
Anyways.
For my part, I'd offer more constructive criticism, but I honestly don't think I'm used enough to Tabletop RP Gs to be much use.
That being said, did you get my PM from a little while ago?
^I feel largely the same. I'm fine with discussing things that just require me to know about things related to Ivalice and Final Fantasy, but when it comes to things like stat-layout for tabletop RPGs I'm pretty clueless.
Exactly what the two tropers above said.
I ain't saying no showy crap like "later buddies" or something lame like that. I'll be back soon, you bozos!Update, Hunter techniques are mostly done, need some more legendaries, and did some edits to teh Existing Paladin's features, made a chart, posted it, and now my parents are taking me bowling. I'll be back later with more updates!
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiUpdate, Finished the Paladin class features, cleaned up the Techniques, need a lot more though.
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -IllaoiMore technique suggestions? That I can help with:
- Vitals Shot: Randomly selected status effects (including HP to One).
- Rapidfire/Barrage: Hit even more enemies (and maybe ignore defense), but they're selected randomly. It could be useful if you want to use several different kinds of arrows.
- You're probably not going to make the Seeq Ranger a separate class, so some of it's abilities might be worth adding like settings traps (Sten Needle, Silence Gas, Leech, and Love Potion), Mirror Items (items have the opposite effect on foes), Awareness (show all traps), or Life Bond (transfer HP to an ally).
- Lightning Strike: An attack that is weaker but cannot be dodged/countered/etc.
- Replenish: Spend HP to recover used arrows (or does this have Bottomless Magazines?)
- Scouring Strike: Attack that removes one buff from target when used successfully.
There were other abilities that the Archers, Hunters, and Snipers had but they didn't seem really related (Burial, Armor Shot, Weapon Shot, Wallet Shot) or too powerful (Sidewinder).
Agree with the Traps bit. Maybe add that as a job feature, though.
Traps and Vitals Shot sound pretty good to me. The Lightning Shot is pretty similar to Take Aim, isn't it? It would be quite redundant.
What about adding FFTA2's Sonic Boom?
And you aren't planning on adding Viera Snipers, I assume. The gear-breaking attacks seem useful to me, though they might be overpowered. A disarming shot, maybe?
I ain't saying no showy crap like "later buddies" or something lame like that. I'll be back soon, you bozos!Actually, I was planning on doing Ranger abilities (traps, item gimmicks, etc.) for Thieves, ironically, otherwise I wouldn't have a lot of abilities to use for Them.
And while I thank you for the Hunter ideas, and will probably make an update with them. I need more for the Paladin, actually.
And I totally overlooked Sonic Boom. Oops.
"We are born knowing what to do, we must only act." -Illaoi^^Sonic Boom was in both games! Also, Take Aim can miss, but only if the target Blocks Arrows (Archer's Bane in A2). Lightning Shot (actually, I think it was called "Faster") has a normal hit rate, but completely nullifies the target's Reaction.
^^^^Infinite Ammo, presumably. That's how it was in the games.

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "^I thought Archer's Bane only worked on basic arrow attacks?
Anyway, yes that is the difference between Take Aim and Lightning Strike: one is very accurate, the other one happens when the enemy is off guard keeping them from activating abilities of techniques that take effect when they're attacked; what's the Pathfinder equivalent to a Reaction ability?
OK, so ideas for more Paladin abilities and techniques? Well, I'll just assume you've gone through all the ones from Advance and A2:
- Guard: All allies which at Critical Health (%25 or lower) are Covered automatically.
- Holy Circle: Party members in an area temporarily become intimidating to the undead, who must make a Will save to initiate an attack.
- Divine Emblem: Makes the next holy-based ability you use more likely to succeed.
It appears you're more or less fusing it with the Defender class (which is essentially the Bangaa equivalent of the Paladin), but is Templar still going to be an Advanced class or would you consider combining it will Paladin as well? You might also want to try some Holy Knight abilities, though that might be almost the opposite of a Paladin...
Oh, wait, they did {Nerf} it.
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "I know it was in both games, it's just that he uses FFTA2 only, and I had to differentiate this Sonic Boom from other games' Sonic Booms.
Also, I was referring to the Take Aim Renagade adapted, not the in-game one. Lightning Shot would be almost the same once rewritten.
I'll take a look at Paladins later.

I ain't saying no showy crap like "later buddies" or something lame like that. I'll be back soon, you bozos!@ Awe Striker: Yeah, I'm doing Infinite Ammo for this version, you never ran out in Tactics or FF 12, so there's no reason to run out this time.
@TO 1 D: The Pathfinder Equivalent, and well, D&D equivalent of a Reaction ability are Immediate reactions. And, for reference, Hunters are a fusion of Archers, Hunters, Snipers and Fencers from TA/2. And Paladins are a fusion of, well, Paladins, Defenders, and Templars.
I've added Lightning Strike and Sonic Boom and a few higher level techniques to the hunters, and a few others to the Paladins, I'll add TO 1 D's suggestions when I get back from work today.

Update...
Okay, not really. Just letting you guys know that my vacation is sucking up my free time and I probably won't get another update in until I get back to Germany. Which'll be on Wednesday.
