Hi,
Weird confession: I have zero idea why challenge in games is supposed to be entertaining. For me it’s the inverse of No Challenge Equals No Satisfaction, and I’m totally happy playing games on very easy difficulty or with cheats enabled so I win constantly.
But my internet friends won’t stop arguing with me, and they’ve convinced me to find something mildly challenging so I will allegedly “figure out how to not quit after 1 failure”.
Any suggestions for a game with very small amounts of difficulty?
How about Pong?
Optimism is a duty.If you don't enjoy challenging games, that's perfectly fine. For me, figuring out the perfect strategy to get past a difficult boss in an RPG or mastering their moveset in an action game is very rewarding, but that's not for everyone. Even within the spectrum of "easy games" there's a lot of variety — do you want chill games with no real lose condition to pass the time, like Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing? Do you want a more "traditional" combat-focused experience but with the option of turning difficulty down to a minimum? Do you prefer a focus on story, visuals, immersion?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Well, if you're going for that sort of easy, there is indeed plenty of puzzlers out there that omit things like time challenges and combat. A lot of classic point and click games are like that, and some puzzle games as well.
But a game that has no challenge at all? That's kind of a tall order. There are genres of "games" that are more like webtoys, that offer very little in the way of gameplay or challenge in favour of something more soothing or meditative.
Optimism is a duty.Maybe an Idle Game?
Is this the pseudo-general video game thread? Okay.
Why is Sid Meier's Sim Golf not available for purchase digitally? I would gladly recommend that game to everyone yet somehow EA doesn't like to share it.
Hi, I try to find a game that is gameplay (I think that is the word in English) is similar to the games "White Knight Chronicles" and "White Knight Chronicles 2/II" that were released at the time on the Playstation 3. console. The ask for the recommendations is for the Playstation 3/4/5. consoles. Thanks to the helpers.
P.S. Sorry for my bad English, English isn't my native language.
@Just Normal Music Lover: I would say that I tend to prefer games that have gameplay of a sort that I enjoy; aesthetics that I find pleasing; narratives that interest me and that don't turn me away; and so on.
@Rollhandles: I don't know you as well as I imagine that your internet friends do, so perhaps they have a reason to think that you might enjoy some degree of challenge.
However, I otherwise echo Ninety: There's nothing wrong with being uninterested in challenge in your games.
By all means try a game that presents a challenge: it'll perhaps be a new experience at the least, and might introduce you to something additional that you enjoy.
But if you don't like it, then I would say that that's fair.
As to a suggestion, what sorts of games do you otherwise enjoy? That might help us to narrow down the pool of potential recommendations in order to hopefully increase the likelihood of finding something that you might like.
My Games & WritingI'd like to recommend Guardian Tales to anyone who's looking for an RPG to play.
"We are all so afraid, we are all so alone, we all so need from the outside the assurance of our own worthiness to exist."Tetris 99 is the most addictive battle royale game I have ever played.
I wasn't a big fan of it... between Tetris having a very high skill ceiling and 99 players, it feels very rare to actually get a match where you have a realistic chance of winning if you aren't a particularly skilled player. Mario 35 was much more my speed... if only Nintendo didn't kill it.

I missed the part where that's my problem.pretty weird when you consider that unlike Tetris they have full ownership of Mario and so maintaining it must have been much cheaper but Nintendo is using the strategy of the Disney vault of creating a forced shortage in order to force people to rush into getting their products as quickly as possible even when they could easily keep providing them.
I recommend Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magic Obscura. One of my favourite cRPGs, but nearly forgotten. This is essentially "steamwork meets classical fantasy" Fallout.
Dominion of Darkness, simulator of the Dark Overlord: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/DominionOfDarknessI'm looking for a 4X game (real-time or turn-based) that resembles the Civilization series:
- You control a civilization that is based on a real-life one or a Fantasy Counterpart Culture thereof
- You progress through a series of eras, from Stone Age primitivity to the high-tech (post)modernity.
- You have a variety of win conditions, rather than being limited to total domination through military conquest.
- Unlike Civilization, however, the immortal character that leads the civilization from start to finish isn't a Historical Domain Character (in the case of civilizations that represent historical ones rather than being expies of them).
what would you say is the best platform for playing cult of the lamb?
I'm looking for any western games that are similar to RDR 2, That game might've ruined my tastes in open-world games forever. Right next to Elden Ring.

Does anyone know where to find Discworld? It doesn't seem to be on Steam.
Optimism is a duty.@Marq JFA: Best I can think of is probably Empire Earth, but good luck getting that series to run on modern computers. Oh, and don't bother with the 3rd game in the series, it's widely regarded to be garbage.
I would really like to play the original Dungeon Keeper someday, but that one doesn't play nice with modern video cards, it seems.
Optimism is a duty.War For The Overworld is a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper. It's in my library backlog, but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I've heard really good things, though.
The Generation of Chaos games.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. The Dungeons games are very similar to Dungeon Keeper as well.
I'm just getting into cartoonish PVP shooters like Overwatch and Fortnite, but I'd like to try out a more realistic modern warfare FPS PVP game. I'm aware of Co D Warzone, but have also heard that Battlefield 2042 has been improved since launch, and wondered whether there was something decent. I don't mind team games like Overwatch, but I'm also looking for battle royales where I'm independent.
Any system is fine (have one of each), but if it's a PC game then something that's good on the Steam Deck would be preferred.
I personally recommend The Last Express for it’s immersive step into the pages of history. And it’s on the Orient Express.

What do you personally think or prefer for your choices? For me, I'm content with simple games regardless of platform. Which is usually why I'm compatible with a lot of games, but I do not have time to test and check out all of them.
In your opinion, what kind of aspect do you personally prefer for your preferred games?
How many games got ported into Nintendo Switch? A lot of them.
