I've always wondered where to get an English patch for the Visual Novel. I've Googled it in the past, but last I checked, the patch project was cancelled.

Can anyone shed some light on this matter? :)

Self Thread Necromancy! tongue

Finished the Kaede Fuyou route. I found their relationship really really endearing. Kaede isn't a Yandere in the game, in fact, she's one of the most sympathetic characters I've seen in a while, since she was guilty of what she did to Rin in the past, which is why she didn't feel worthy to receive Rin's love, despite her being madly in love with Rin.

Rin saying "I forgive you," is definitely a Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming.

I didn't really mind the H-scenes though, quite amusing actually. Although I think that a half-asleep Kaede is one of the most sexually aggressive women I've seen in these kinds of games.

Yet. tongue

Did you find an english patch? Or just play the japanese version?

I don't know Shuffle at all (other than the fact that Konata likes it, so it's probably required reading). How do you rate it? Compared with others, like Da Capo and To Heart, I mean.

Arilou: The official translation is by Mangagamer, I believe. I emailed Mapi-chan a link before, but I think it didn't work.

I'm playing Mangagamer's release. It's under 1Gb, easily downloadable via torrent.

Ontopic, I missed a few CGs in Kaede's route, until I remember there was a choice where Rin could either "Come inside" or "Come outside".

I'll be doing Asa's route next, so I'll be posting about that soon.

This is pretty much different from Utsuges like Da Capo. It's a flat out Dating Sim, except that unlike School Days, Rin really cares for the girls.

EDIT: If you guys like, I could link the NSFW scenes, but it'll take me time to upload those when no one's looking.

Heh, no worries. I'll get it myself at some point.

By the way, did you ever watch Rah Xephon? I think you'd actually like it a lot.

Haven't seen it, but I've seen it mentioned here on the Fora quite a few times. Won't check it out yet though, because my next big show is Nanoha.

As will I.

Funny you should mention Rah Xephon, I was intrigued by that, and made a mental note to watch it at some point. I've got a few shows lined up, but I'll get round to it eventually. I get this, I dunno, sort of Egyptian mythology vibe from it.

Well, Rin is not exactly gun-shy, once she, uh, warms up. Don't forget her little prelude to the main event. Poor Saber.tongue

I know exactly what you mean. Just read the NSFW doujinshi Type-Moon Complex like what I did. Rin's threesome is there. tongue

Specifically, Shirou bangs Rin in front of Saber.

UPDATE: Finished the Asa Shigure route. Now I have undeniable proof that Kaede Fuyou is not a Yandere in the game. When Asa tells Kaede that she and Rin are together, it's basically the part in the anime where Kaede is under the bridge and they tearfully make up and stuff, except that it happens in the park.

Similar to the anime, Kaede spits out the "I love him but I won't let him love me" line, while also saying "I'm glad it was Asa-senpai Rin-kun chose. Please make him happy."

Also, I find this hard to believe, but despite the fact that Rin bangs Asa a lot more than he does Kaede in her route, Kaede still comes off as more sexually aggressive for me as compared to Asa. Must be the devotion part.

This is actually an amusing subversion of what happens in the Stay Night route, where Rin bangs Saber in front of Shirou before he goes anywhere near her.

Yup, Saber was Rin's before she was Shirou's.

Kaede being the Yandere alas was the only thing that made her actually interesting. (As you can tell I have a soft spot for people actually standing up and fighting for what they want, even if it ends badly)

Finished Sia's route. Main conflict was the Starfish Character concept, with a Tear Jerker scene where Sia thinks of how her "little sister" had always been neglected by everyone, including her own family, not realizing that all her sister wanted was to be recognized as an individual.

Sia then permanently switches with her sister, and Rin risked his life to get Sia back by giving her sister what she wanted: a name.

Thus Kikyou was born. This is where the anime version of Kikyou was derived from: if in the anime, Kikyou was already called that, in the game, Rin named Kikyou. And yes, both Kikyou and Sia love Rin. He's sooooo in demand, isn't he? :p

Just an update: I won't be able to do Nerine's and Primula's routes until the semester ends in 2-3 weeks, so until then I guess.

From looking at the walkthrough it seems there's actually two endings for Sia, and you can determine which personality becomes dominant.

EDIT: I'm noticing that my penchant for liking side characters shows up again. I find myself kind of liking Kareha and Mayumi, the people with no routes! :p

EDIT 2: i also kind of like how Asa's route is... Less obvious? Than the others. Nerine & Sia are of course directly pointed out and most people seem to figure that Kaede is part of the harem as well, but they don't seem to count Asa like that unless you actually pursue her.

Oh yes, two endings to Sia. I forgot the "Dodge" option in the pool deep into her route; I'll get around to that very soon.

Yes, most people don't count Asa as part of his harem. Sad, really, when she's my favorite character among them. I was practically cheering in the anime. tongue

Also, the Bleached Underpants version, Shuffle: On the Stage, IIRC, has routes for Kareha and Mayumi. Which is why I suddenly want to play that game. I'm in it for Kareha, and IIRC again, we're finally shown that Mayumi likes Itsuki all along, explaining the attitude those two have towards each other.

I think that's precisely why I could get behind her. I tend to be incredibly averse to "designated" winners.

I mean, I could figure out they'd not go for either Nerine or Sia in the anime (there seems to be this odd thing that if there's only one Magical Girlfriend she wins, but as there's two that appears at the same someone is likely to Take a Third Option)

I must say I kind of liked Asa's design in the anime more than the one in the VN.

Done with Sia's Route(s) and now halfway through Kaede's.

How quickly do you go through these routes? O_o

It took me like, almost four nights to get through HF (I don't skip scenes, though).

FSN took A LOT longer than Shuffle, mainly because they had many more unique scenes per route (Shuffle repeats them a lot, so I skip a lot) It's also much, MUCH longer overall.

First time always goes slower of course, but once you're on the last routes (and thus knows where to go :p) I blew through the Shuffle routes in 20 mins.
